I've got a Sailfin plec that's about 15cm long and he doesn't harm the plants at all. He looks awesome, check him out:
btw Dawn that's one of your bristlenoses next to him, still going strong

"The bamboo is cut down in lengths of around two metres and is allowed to dry for two months, there is a substance or smell in fresh bamboo that evidently the fish do not like."
I sold him to Hollywood today, he was too destructive to the plants in my tank. They would only take him for $5 though, which sort of sucks cause I drove to Thames to pick him up too : /
Well I've ended up putting a 300w in the 4ft and the 200w in the 2ft. They seem to be doing ok, but the tank's temperatures rose about 3 degrees today because of how it is is
I picked him up today, I named him Odin (king of the Norse gods) here's what he looks like:
I'm pretty sure it is a common plecostomus, do you guys agree?
I'll get some more pics when he gets into his tank.
Cheers for letting me know about Goldfish pagoda KM, I went there today and seems like an awesome shop, way closer to me than Jansens too
I ended up ordering 4 siamese fighters, 10 cardinals and 4 clown loaches from them lol
Ah ok, cool. Looks like I'll be spending all my money on fish for just a *little while longer*
Strangely enough though, I don't really view that as a bad thing.
I got one of these guys with a tank that I got and I haven't seen him since, I know that they dig under gravel and whatnot but my question is, is there anything I can do to make him come out more? If I got more of them would they be bolder? I thought he looked pretty neat but there's no point in him looking neat if he's hanging out with the plant roots all the time!
I've named a couple of my fish, not all of them though. I just name them if I feel a certain name would suit them.
I've got a Chinese Algae eater named Alfred (he had a buddy named Crazy Eye Joe but he died - I'm fairly certain Alfred killed him),
a Common Plec named Kyle
and a red spot pleco named Gorgoroth 8)
I've put the molly's in my big tank (which they were going to go in anyways when I got a heater for it, it's at around 22c right now) just to be safe. I was thinking of getting a Betta to go in that tank too, I may have to reconsider now.
I just got some new Mollys, they're floating in their bag acclimatizing right now and my male betta seems really interested in them, he's displaying in front of them and swimming all around them. Will they be ok together? Will he rip them to shreds the moment they're out of the bag? heh
Looking at pics of Pseudomugil signifer on the web, I'd say that's what they are. They came with a new tank that I bought and I'm not sure where the person bought them from. Thanks for your help everyone
