Three arrived two years ago from the Amazon with other whiptails.. First was to grow them on and luckly i got a pair.. Next was the had yards waiting..Spawned and saw at least 50 young at 12mm free swimming..Decided whiptails dont worry young..Well..Next morning not one fry left..Decided it must have been female as the are so rare that they even eat meat..All my others imported would not...Should have clicked.. Next time the male was in tube with about 50 + wiggling eggs so i decided to remove the female..All good and on the 9th day decided to remove the male to..The tube was partly open and a air stone at the entrance as was earlier..They free swim on day 10.. Came back a bit later to find most had died..???...male must to really pumping water past them..But after many hours of pricking out dead i saved 13...Some months later the female died..Now 18 months on i found that the 300 L tank they were in was babies every where..Quickly the large amount of wood was removed and all adults..Stood there watching for 1 hour to ensure i missed no one.. A week later they are at counted roughly 70 and have put on 3mm so now 15mm..It will take 4 or 5 months to get to 1/3 rd size..Adults are just 100 mm long with wisk on top of tail...The look in photo is that all the time..Dorsal fin stays up... This it the third type breed here now from wild imports..Whites Whiptails are now at 40mm and are starting to be sold..No photo on them a yet but pail with dark bars...Rhinoloricara is the new name for all whiptails and no second name so maf have accepted R ... Hi Look all this is just cr-p If you see my trade me auctions i list known latin names..Its than up to the buyer to decide.. Lucky you guys here wasting time are not into discus..Thing ya got a problem with names..na...The listed fry were only put there to give a hint of whats here as dont think to many even have seen my breeding room.. Stop picking holes..I can tell you now that the lines of all imports are not really known..You all just take as good fish when received..No importer has the history just buy from trade lists...Phill

Yes i have many types of african's here breeding and i know thet are all good stock or i would not have purchased them.. Also i have received a few lines to grow on like alex's Maleri Red's For sale i have young electric blues and kadango about 40mm. Also a line of blue dolphins at 80 to 100mm..I managed to get a well coloured line of just on adults Also Many very young electric blue,electric yellow,blue ice,sunshine peacocks.daffoldi.. One welly member lost every fish by getting in new parasites... Done the same thing...Collect from ponds... Went right through every tank as sump was being used..Lost all he told me ,all fish in every tank........Take care........Phill

Seen none up here lately.....Its still common practice from singapore not to export females of many fish..I have seen stock lists not to long back..Just males shown..Could just very well be locatised stock..Yes i do know how to sex them as they to have been breed here before... Also singapore fish are not skinny when exported...........Phill

Alloy foil with vapor barrier..Usually White like plastic then Tempered hard board...Will not rot..And also seals out drafts.. Under all that in my roof i have 4 layers of bubble wrap..Even over 4 huge sky lights. Rooms act like fire place..Air in say under door and out if there any small gaps in roof lining ..Just poly linning is just not good enough ,Still get big power bills... Mine is high gable roof so just about impossible to seal so around doors etc are sealed with closed body sponge seal.. Poster will remember the room here.. An other problem is power must be protected by RCD Unit on mains and protects all down lines..Stops sparkes up your bum...Phill

Hi Std ploy is toxic when melts with fire..Had a big scare years ago when basement room got fire..Firebrigade said so toxic if were not up helping a friend with a sick dog we above would have all died...No question about it.. 100mm ploy is the same as roof batts..And batts are a lot cheaper.. You have been here before,come and go over info on room.. 124 tanks are heated in the worst of winter for $125 a month.. Also remember 5 tanks x 300watt heater is 1500w just like your electic jug..10 tanks is 3 kw and then maybe over loading power supply...Heat pump is by far the only way you can heat big area.......Phill

Hi The name mostly will be just Rub......But firebird i did find some where..Have to hunt again..Has a nice ring to it..So...Maybe... Rubescens Firebird..Covers both points...To young fish photo's ..yes just about imposible to name till fully coloured then still not easy as photo's tent to have light differences giving different looks...ie red /pink over head tubes........Growlux ...........Phill

Hi The photo you put first is very simular to the one he used..Maybe a bit more blue in body.. Problem we all have is once imported and if mixed up later then yes you will get x just like other photos.. The reason why i got them was because its not easy to get reds or oranges here..But remember i did see tha male and as said was definately reddish orange..So going on that i got 20..All doing very will and are 35mm..Not pushing food to hard to ensure gut dont play up.. All mine have been treated for internal and external bug and worms..So no scratching or white dropping that i recon is heximata tha same as discus get ..They call it malawi bloat.. I have have none die so i cannot look inside to confirm.. But yes ......We will all have more discussion later when i see colours.. All views will be sort.........I did win an auction of alex' s for reb.......But he lost the male..Now waiting on his malarie reds....Ordered them to to grow on.........Cheers Phill
