Almost finished my lights. I have 4 running at the moment. Just a couple of photos with lights(excuse the power lead)

Thats the million dollar question, still havent decided what to put in yet. I will definately be putting in my pair of maroon clowns, but then the problems start. I have a blue, yellow, unicorn and a redsea sailfin tang, a yellow rabbit fish and 10 blue eyed cardinals from my old tank. I have to figure out what I dont want and which ones to sell. I will definately keep the blue tang as it was my second fish(first was the maroon), and maybe the yellow which is my wifes favorite and will probably sell the rest. Still not sure yet but will figure something out soon. Will give you a call soon swampy to sort out the cap

Icecap ballasts always overdrive t5's

lights havent been finished yet. I have 6 54w t5's in a retro kit with individual reflectors, 4 over driven to 80w on an icecap ballast and 2 normal. Gives me a total of 428w which would be plenty.

so quiet I can hear the hum from the 2 seaswirls and the return pump.

Yeah its my overflow. Its a 30l by 10wide by 15high box. I have a 32mm full siphon and a 25mm backup. Works really well and with the siphon is completely silent. I have a luguna6 for my return and it handles that no problem

a few photos of my new tank, finally added water last wekend and aquascaped. Tank is 1200 by 550 wide 550high. Stand was made by swampy and I am very impressed by its quality. Tanks made by greg off TM.

dont bother with an aquarium light. I have a 26w energy saver bulb costs $7.50 works great. Check out melevs website its a simular bulb to what he uses, 5600k I think

IMO its a great system. I used miracle mud on my old tank and will on my new tank which gets water this week. My brother uses it on his tank with great results. Sure you have to pay extra to get the mud but you save in less water changes etc and you will get a great looking tank in the long run. Aren't FO tanks how most of us started in this hobby. If I had my time over again I would only stock the tank with reef safe fish as eventaully you will have a reef and then have to get rid of some of your fish, I personally hated having to remove my emperior angel

I use a laguna 6 and 7, happy with both of them althought not quite the liter rate your after

$540 gets you a tank with rock and a light, then you have to stock it, wouldnt take long to get to $1000

If you want certain corals bug your local shop who will in turn bug their importer who can hopefully get the corals for you, provided they are on the approved list. I have done this in the past with hff and got what I wanted. Most shops wont carry sps as there is too small a market for them

I am struggling to find the name of the stuff I had. I got it from hff from their old display. I will try and find the name for you. I tried some of the stuff they have in their current tank and it was fine. They have had it there for 6+ months with no problems yet. In my new tank I will get some more from HFF and use that. I moved 4 months ago and broke the tank down so all the old algae is gone

dave at hff said the stuff they have wont go sexual or whatever you call it. I had the green round leaf stuff in my old tank and never had a problem either

both my brother and I have kept anemones with less lighting than the rsm has, cant see why you wouldnt be successful
