BBA will be back if the water is not change regularly. no one can get rid of algae complete unless you want to rid off your plant. the key word is control and balance. i only double dose when my BBA got out of hand. (it is up to you.) i have no lose of fish for double dosing. once double dose, i will keep the water for one week and change regularly for twice a week to rid of the dead algae. once i am confident that it stablised, i will go back to once a week water changes. Excel can be expensive but try to keep a good balance between lighting, fertiser and CO2 so that your plant is healthy enough to compete against the algae. All the best.

56cm from top to toe and 10 cm in diameter. small enough to tuck away at a corner. sorry, i want to sell it as a whole and not in small parts. please check market price before making an offer. all the best

i have a complete system to sell. if you are interested PM me and made an offer. please check with LFS and i will help you with some saving. all item guarantee to work well (except for the bubble counter which is free if you buy some of this stuff from me.) description: 1) dual guage indicator (two step to low pressure for aquarium use. too low; it will be redundant and too high will kill the fishes.) 2) needle vale knot for easy control 3) solenoid to stop the flow electronically with the timer. turn it "on" when the tank light is on to assist photosynthesis. 4) one check valve to prevent back flow (common item) 5) one bubble counter (Free: need to repair as there is a leak) 6) one nutrafin diffuser 7) CO2 resistant air hose (normal hose sold in LFS will oxydate and turn brown and soft. this will leak gas.) i can give free for certain length is it suits your needs. 8) and the last is the gas tank 1.8 Kg this stuff i got from some specialist (imported) and Pneumatic shop. All the best

from what i gather, the water from the tap has some trace elements to keep any plants growing for a while. if you notice, algae grow faster than any plants. that mean they will absorb the nutrients in the water faster than any plants in general (i know some plant grow faster than others base on the characteristic of the plants.) therefore with strong sun light, trace element in the tap water and failing to compete with plant. algae will start booming. and thus green water. if you can supply CO2 and keep a good control, you can encourage your plant to grow stronger and thus compete better with the algaes. please correct me if i am wrong. i am a willing learner. All the best.

i have try one of this before but using bubble counter to regulate the flow of the gas. single guage is cheaper but very hard to control. either within a slight turn on the control valve, you will get either too high or too low. double gauge is the way to go. i may have some to sell but i have to wait. All the Best.

Good advice from Warren. If your tank is expose to direct sun light, algae will also start to boom and you will have green water in your tank. try to position your tank away from direct sunlight. another sure way to go is to invest in UV treatment. it is costly but it guarantee to work. it is a cannester like device that the tank water is pump through the UV ray that will kill any green spores. thus back to clear water again. all the best

Sorry, i got my ratio all wire wrongly. in this ratio, it should be 0.5 to 0.75 to 1 litre of tank water. so if you have a hundred litre of water, you will need between 50 to 75 watt of light (preferbly 6,500 that has the right spectran that is close to the sun.) Cheers

HI does any one know any courier from New PLymount to post live fish? over night courier. thanks
-
do you mean black bear algae (BBA)? one remedy is to double dose "Flourish Excel-organic Carbon". in one week time the BBA will turn pink and disappear (it will not hurt your plant). i think about 2 to 3 week. then you have to change 50% of your tank water twice a week for three weeks. and pray that it does not return. there is no guarantee. some time i think it only slow the growth. changing water does keep the algae under control. all the best

Sweet, now i need to clear some space for the Orisis. this is mine Echinnodorus - Red Special, about 6 months ago. it really is jack-in-the-bean-stalk. i give it it a little push and stalk soften and i slowly twirl it back into the water, submerge. the height of my tank is 50cm. when the leaves and roots are established, cut the stalk. Each node could mean a few plantlets. plant then in the gravel and off they go. Red..., Go Go Go!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
