  1. i am only keeping guppies not marine. as long i can do water change daily and keep the disease out, i think i have succeed. i have nothing to complain about from the system...everything is cheap as and seems to be running well and water is clean as 24hrs. looking to expand these in the future.
  2. congrats on your dreams come true, blue.
  3. nah...never used it and its locked for a while. i shall brace the unit a little.
  4. one thing for sure i shall keep trying. This is not surprising as Albinos are very sensitive fish because they are genetically weaker than the normals. Add to that the fact that each albino is intensely inbred so it remains albino, and you have a bad combination.
  5. wow. what a good spawn!! stunning pictures as always.
  6. looking good ant. shall see your progress.
  7. pictures time again. moderaters gonna get me on this. i hope the pictures doesnt take too long to load. i have tried my best reducing size on them all. the inline filter coming in. very cheap stuff compared to expensive UV filter which i cant afford, just to filter some big particals in the water. a test out system has been carried out on top. you can see the water coming in from the top pipe. and bottom is where the water goes out to the sink. on top of each tank i have a small tap controling the water dripping speed. thus, water change can be carried out in each tank without effecting the others. the picture says it all, water overflows and goes out the outlet pipe. the trial setup. will hold about 23 L in each partitional space,so far so good and the waters are clean.
  8. one thing im not sure if they are going to breed anymore. i know livebearer are easy to breed, but breeding pair i have are nothing like it. as i said they have some genetic problem, they dont tend eat a lot and shows sign of spine bent and really thin. but anyhow i shall keep trying.
  9. please consult with your other half before proceeding. i do not held responsibility against any damage done in the house. i have decided to heat up the whole room. cost 3 foot tank with 4 holes drill $50 bulkheads fittings $19 ----------------------------------------- total cost $69 so far so good. i would presume the cost would go up as the fittings are not as cheap. but its is a lot cheaper to do the fittings in PVC.
  10. today i wake up and found out that my feather fin synodontis catfish ate almost all of my 2 weeks old little albinos. the reason i put catfish in is that it is good for eating out the hydras. now ive only 3 left. really gutted as the breeding parent has genetic problem and cant really produce much youngs.
  11. Hi seahorsemad, thanks for the tips. by rainwater, do you mean freshwater with no added seasalt at all?cheers
  12. i have tried growing them in a bucket or tank but found out that they all died after 3-4days. i dont know what the reason. i think is my salt water concentration is not accurate.
  13. a very neat tank made by alanmin4304. the tank is 3 foot long with 4 partitions. each partitional space has a 20mm hole on top where the fittings comes in. this is going to be one of my testing tank. if this works i will be doing more of these. Special thanks to alanmin4304 for showing me how to make a tank. the fittings. you can easily get these from a irragation hardware store. final assembled. this is going to be the outlet pipe that water overflows and drains out to the sink. with these pipes coming out i would not have to carry my buckets around no more!!
  14. hi LMK, yes you are right, white worms are totally different, these are not suitable for small frys. what you need is live critters that will fit into tiny frys mouth. microworms is good, but you need a culture to start off with, sometimes sold on TM, or you probably can ask someone here to send you a culture.
  15. thats why you need virgin females, as you have no way of knowing whether the female is breeding 100% true.

  18. im afraid albino livebearers are a bit hard to find these days especially guppies. i havent seen albino platies in my life, but albino swordtails and mollies can be found here occasionally
  19. hiya Dan, Good on ya for joining FNZAS forum in the first place. we are one happy fish lover community here and always here to help each other. Killies are great fish, getting addicted is easy and beware of catching the popular MTS. regards shiuh

  21. i have seen balloon golden rams....just wondering anyone seen these import fish before.
  22. i have decided to clear up another unoccupied space and putting more tanks on the other sides of sinks. thus updated my plans a bit. heres the updated plan. and the 3D views. hopefull it will turn up to be something like this. just ignore the highly reflected floor and surfaces.
