currently its ~8cm. They go mad huh? I wonder how the other fish will react, although they all are pretty tough.

I am sure that some of you have kept/keep a red tail shark. I have read everywhere and read on other forums how ill-tempered they are. mine is far from a little terror and just spends all day nibbling algae off the caves.

about kribs, I found them to be little buggers! They (2 females) annoyed my fire eel no end so I traded them in.

have any of you wellingtonians been to hutt pet centre and seen big 'gavin'? he is a beast- the biggest giant gourami I have ever seen or heard of!

very, very interesting fish. It is incredible how they spit with so much precision! You can feed them all sorts of insects. rob, you talked about us-nz dollars, isn't it good how much our dollar has risen in value!

I got a whole lot of rocks when I was down in the west coast last christmas but I didnt use them because when i stuck one in momentarily it appeared to fizz. I know my tank water isint vinegar but was this just air bubbles escaping or was the rock releasing minerals into the water?

my giant gourami is getting bigger. maybe 5" now.

yup spot on Ira. I went to animates on sunday and yeah all they had was a dwarf flag cichlid, oh well.

yeah will do. they turned into a nice little pair now!

oh well it all fizzled out. They moved their eggs to their pit and the next day they were gone!

do common aquarium fish have teeth? I know pirhana do, but do fish like cichlids have teeth? I have been bitten by my giant gourami before and he bites hard, but I couldnt see any teeth.

joined the bgk club ay midas. I have never had any trouble with the BGK eating my fish. They're real sacks during the day arent they. Does yours like 'sleeping' vertically?

how were they warren? the big ones that i have seen have huge 'guts' on them.

does lowering temperature lower aggression? within reason ofcourse like not below 22 degrees.

how aggressive are they? I probably need a fish like that to calm down my giant gourami. She is swimming around like she owns the tank.

love that tiger fish warren. looks just like my little guy. Its funny how nearly all the tanks in the photos are full of plants. I cant have plants now seeing that my fire eel burrows and uproots everything.

heaps I have a variety in my tank alone- giant gourami, thick-lipped,snakeskin,moonlight,siamese fighter. i believe a fire eel can breathe air through some other method although I know it isint a anabantid. I have seen kissers and blue gouramis, but have never seen a climbing perch or a nile perch. snakeheads arent anabantids but once again they can breathe air too.

ask wet pets if they can make you a tank. what ever happened with the chromides?
