Yes they have a jardini and used to have a very large silver arowana. Ive always liked the look of those 'strawberry blues'. If you look to the tank at the beginning of the wet pets area they have a native eel aswell.
I dont know about those ones at wet pets, last time I saw them they were very very small and skinny. they usually dont have a high survival rate at that size. I got mine for $118 and he was already 3" and as solid as a rock.
siamese tigers are nice, mines about 5" now. cost a bit, and whether or not the one you get eats flakes or just strictly live food is just chance. luckily enough mine eats flakes.
Your out of luck Ira. I walked into animates and asked them about these 2 little cichlids in with some africans. The guy said they are triangle cichlids, but didnt know anything else about them. So I got the two and he gave them to me as assorted cichlids at $19 each. Uarus are usually about $50 each.
You see sometimes small places get unusual fish that they know very little about. like do you know the place in Tawa? they had a fire eel not so long ago.
speaking of aggressive cichlids- have any of you wet pets regulars seen the big red devil and red tail cat square off? when I was there the red devil kept on charging at the red tail cat but then backing off.
if it wasnt for the only 20-30l of water an archer would do great if you made the water slightly brackish. It would love it! you could have heaps of plants, seal the top, throw in some live crickets and watch the archers natural behaviour.
nah i am not too sure. I myself aquired 2 uaru today in the most unassuming of places. i walked into animates and asked about these 2 cichlids, which they had no idea about. So I got 2 for $30.
