    Siam Tigers

Mines ~120mm I got him about 8 months ago. He seems happy to eat small fish, frozen food, live food, pellets or flakes. I've found him to be a very tempremental fish, sometimes hiding in his cave all day sometimes coming out to greet me. Real nice fish though

    Arowanas

I think Richard is the only other with an arowana, I hope to get one though If you get that asian arowana, all you need is an african. Damn wierd fish those african arowana.
  3. Macka have you got some pics of your pearl aro?
  4. http://community.webshots.com/album/59224741uReOaf there you are, pretty nice

    Flowerhorn

It's a cichlasoma synspilum, the old red head cichlid. They've also got a foot and a half fire eel in that display tank, did you see that?
  6. Actually Ira I do remember a while back asking about the size of the tanks and he said 'around 400 litres' Bumble Bee Gobies is pretty exotic, that's the one thing going for him is that gets a good range in. He's always got really cool fish like fire eels in. Speking of fire eels, my guy is nearing the 1.5 ft mark
  7. I'd say thats a good guess, Gavin would be about 50cm minus the tail and he can just turn around. 4ft tall is madness, they would have to get in the tank to actually reach the bottom.
  8. giant gouramis don't move much anyway. What do you think are the tank's dimensions? Ira, have you seen that juvenile GG they had in the back with the oscars and midas? It got ripped to shreds.
  9. I think Kellz is saying how good it is because its so cheap. I walked in there a while back and they had a native eel in with the giant gourami, a slow death for the eel. Yeah I remember the cockatoo, terrible.
  10. They're cheap because they cut costs on fish care and quite frankly they don't take proper care of their fish. But, they get alot of species that you can't get anywhere else in the wgtn region. There's ALOT of dead fish in their tanks, I've walked in their alot and have seen 4 1 foot long pacus in a 3ft tank and fish that have been ripped to shreds because they place them in with uncompatible species. Even Gavin's (the huge giant gourami) tank is far far too small for him. I go there occasionly, and I haven't had any problems with their fish as I've looked for normal behaviour before I buy them. I didn't see the post that was deleted, but I think, providing that the post isn't a personal attack or anything too maliclous, deletion should be kept to a bare minimum as it is censorship and freedom of speech should be valued.

his avatar is a pic of a red devil/midas Do you intend to keep the flowerhorn with the aro? becasue if so are you sure your silver aro will be alright?
  13. Just go down to the stream and catch some Koura
  14. As Ira said fins n fangs does indeed sell marine stuff. They had a small black and white striped fish in there when I was there last.
  15. yeah I saw one, to be 20cm big it must of been atleast 10 years old.

    arowana

lats time I was in there they had an Oscar, plec and a juvenile red devil. Its probably changed because I haven't been in there in a few months.
  17. salt is fine with clowns, as they live in coastal regions in asia and I have 2 pretty fat fellows in a tank with 1 tsp of salt per 10 litres of water.
  18. Benny

    arowana

yeah they had covers, damn powerful fish though!

    arowana

yeah that was a big silver, unfortunately it died the same way alot of arowana die- it obviously got nervous for some reason and jumped out the tank overnight. The owner was pretty gutted, apparently he got offered a large sum of money for it the day before.

    Siamese tiger

I guess I got a lucky siamese tiger, as after a few days of not eating it ate flakes and pellets ever since. A very temperamental fish, some days they greet you others they hide in a cave.

    arowana

$250 isn't bad, may I ask where exactly you saw it/them? Richard, nothing wrong with the old silver arowana they look real nice when they get to about 1m. Wet pets had one, but as I'm sure most of you know it died.

    black algae

Hey everyone. I have some algae in my tank that is black in colour, and I currently dont have an algae eater. Can someone recommend an algae eater to tackle black algae?
  24. Thanks Andrew. I guess 4ft isn't that big after I saw the ones at the aquarium in Hokitika.
  25. They must have moved it .It used to be in the on the opposite side of the big tank and you got pay a couple of bucks and they fed it, right? How big is it anyway?
