its hit or miss if they eat frozen or flake but most of them do eventually eat them its just having enough live food in the tank until they do that can be the problem
  2. Nice work so far, i love shallow tanks. if it were me, i would keep the rock as one island to the left hand side like it is in this pic. gives it a minimal effect with good negitive space on the right once the sand is in,but you still have room for quite a few corals. like i said great start keep us updated

not a silly question at all, he picks at the rock work and sand all day but also feeds on flake when i feed the tank. the tank he came from he was in for 3 years and eating flake so thats why i took him as the hard part was already done

tried to get a couple of top down shots to see how the corals are coloring up only got a couple of shots worth showing big table on left hand side with flash ( makes the greenie color go brown  ) purple middle coral with flash table on right hand side ( these pics are not great at all sorry )
  8. i would look into getting a protein skimmer, rather than using a canister filter if you want to keep marines long term. have a look and a good read of the link below, then ask away if you have any questions Basic Marine Starter Guide

  10. sounds good, i'll chuck you a Pm with address details
  11. i'd keep it simple, 2x mp40's or 6105/6205's pumps 3x 250/400w MH and a couple of t5's to help with color best skimmer you can afford for dosing calcium, alk and mag i'd go with a bubbles magus T01 dosing pump you would also want a automatic top up to deal with evap keep it simple and keep it stable and you will be sweet :happy2: if your ever over tauranga your welcome to pop over and see my setup running, im only running a basic setup
