you dont happen to know what ballasts to use every light shop ive talked to dont know what im talking about.

hi does/has anyone overdriven their lights or know how to do it, ive read somewhere that you use bigger ballasts?i want to do this because i cant fit any more lights under my hood.

i went into benchmark today and they had metal halide( 500w) spot lights there for light stands for $30 are they ok to use in planted aquariums? or are they wrong type of light?

hi i have just finished setting up my Co2 setup, i have a 7.5kg Co2 bottle with a low pressure regulator and a needle valve, will be getting a solonoid hopefully by next week.im running just over 1 bubble per second.after about an hour there is alredy tiny bubbles starting to appear on some of the plants,also i dont have a glass lid on my tank and with the room lights off but the tank lights going you can see what looks like a mist comming out of the tank every now and then is this normal??will try to keep you updated with the progress of the plant,it was cheap aswell not over $400.

hi freshwest im in the same position as you but i dont have a diy co2, my lfs said its $700 for the bottle,reactor etc, and $1100 for the co2 control system on top of the bottle, is it cheaper to hire a bottle and buy needle valve,diffuser, bubble counter??even then the system is only rated upto 400l tanks,

hi im thinking of getting a sera co2 system has anyone got or heard if they are very good?or can someone tell me every thing to get diy i can get a c02 bottle for $10 a month but dont have a clue on what else ill need and where to get it from?please help

i think the big arowana at wet pets is a jardini, but not too sure.

i thought they lived for 15 and over aswell, just have to look after them and have a tank big enough to house them

hi i want to move the gravel from and old tank into my main tank,the old tank has been turned off for a couple of weeks but still has water and gravel etc in there there was a couple of goldfish in it untill last week,whats the best way to do this, put it in slowly and mix it up or stick it all in there.i just dont want to cause the tank to recycle as i have my discus in there.thanks

hi for a 4 foot 100gal tank, what would be a good flow rate to have an anemone and clowns in? i want to have 3x eheim 1060's, 1 for return and 2 for closed loops will this benough or should i go for bigger closed loop pumps.any help would be great thanks

try trademe a few pop up there, or your LFS should be able to get them in if they dont have them already

does NSW have a best by date or loose it saltinity etc over time, how long should it be stored before using and what s too long to store it?

if the overflow was putting out 300 gph, the return has to match it or be less is that right.can you recomend a good pump for a return( i am flexable as i havent had the hole drilled yet so i can rethink things)do you think 300 gph is good or should it be about 600??

hi does this sound like a good idea, to have the overflow hole drilled for 1.5" and have the return at 1 1/4" or 1"??any ideas i aslo want to run 2x ehiem 1262 pumps for closed loops drilled on the base of the tank is this a good idea?thanks
