  1. hows things in the lucky country varanophile?would like you to clear something up for me on here and verify to the doubters that it was indeed you that had the banjo frog tadpoles back in `99.nothing like hearing straight from the person concerned? As to your question,no way as you well know, and not to say the goal posts won`t be shifted at any point to any place!!
  2. can`t really see how that would help or what you are meaning Morc?
  3. the way I see it the `reptile hobby` as its been put ,is a bit like an iceberg. What you see above the waterline is just the tip of it(thats where us legitamite lawabiding types will be found? There are different levels below water with animals of species that we can only dream of??These lower regions may pop up into our space now and again if they want to,but many of them are there happily doing there own thing telling no one nothing. They have been for years and will carry on doing so.
  4. not the rules at all,but if you knew anything about the hobby like you claim you should also know whats at risk in terms of peoples collections and longloved pets?
  5. well if you let people know what you kept, where you live, etc etc you might be taken more seriously? Not just pop up like a jack in the box and start stiring people up.I see you haven`t bothered with the welcome board to introduce yourself?
  6. if you have not met many people in the hobby, maybe you are not qualified to pass comment on something you don`t know alot about?
  7. i could name a few.I know a few more that have the potential but either give things to worthy people or swap for other species.
  8. the main difference is the people who breed for the animals and the challenge of doing it and the others that may have the same passion but with the other motive of making money, lots of it.
  9. Haisley got off lightly if you ask me. (rest of comment removed pending discussion)
  10. and who might you be,with no location on your profile and the grand total of 5 posts?
  11. have to admit I would seriously consider becoming a law breaker to have one,but they are not that longlived and quite challenging to keep healthy in captivity ,I believe. Then again, what would be the point of having something you couldn`t,tell or show to anyone?(even down to your partner?)Just have to be content with the memory of hand feeding one at Ti Point a few years back and maybe again if i ever manage to get back up there.
  12. you gotta do something about that spelling HJ???
  13. i have a project tank here that I have not done anything with if anyone is interested?ex shop display counter with aluminium frame, all laminated glass with one side open (and enough 1/4 inch galvanised mesh to make a door?about 1450x800x500.transportation could be a problem but if someone has some interest and enthusiasim they could let me know.was going to put it up on TM but have not got around to it yet.

  15. the tadpoles will like to eat lettuce leaves that are slimy and decomposing in the water.stay away from bread crumbs, fishfood etc they will eat this but does not do them much good.

  18. is that where the mods from here went?
  19. part of the problem could have been that some / most that were put out there had been rendered sterile by whatever means?
  20. good one id,also good to know not everyone is motivated by the dollar?
  21. best you just stick to one whatever the sex.All sorts of problems having 2 unless you have 2 tanks where you can keep each one?My male would probably kill my female if I left them together, maybe not outright but some serious stress and persecution would happen.just think twice as much food to find another basking possie.........
  22. 2 votes for locusts, watch out if you get asthma, wear a good dust mask when you are working in there. The speed you get them up to a feedable size is miraculous.crickets take forever and little mistakes result in huge loses.
