  1. well thats answers that question Ben, looking good. Is it greener in person??
  2. your welcome anytime Bubbles.
  3. Bubbles, i currently run the 1000 model. Its a goodie, but I'm a bit like Suphew. I get the drip rate going pretty fast, up to 4 per second, and the Bubbles at 1-2 per second and it all runs fine. If the Alk drops a bit, i just up the rate a touch (all very precise  ).
  4. Agree with Chimera. As long as your salt mix (grumble, grumble) has good levels of both.
  5. aaargh, Nick, Chimera is using the same setup as you and me??? and he is certainly very happy with his colour as well. We all have the 400W Narvas, 14k with the reflectors steve bought in. I think you are addressing the wrong person  and I think the colours on my acros are pretty good too. :-?
  6. will get better, try these.... Purple acro pink milli blue and green stags blue tip and my favs, lhs and rhs from above
  7. got a new camera today :bounce: :bounce: Heres some pics, still learning how to use it so they will get better LHS of tank RHS of tank purple stag Tri color i think sushi in all her glory
  8. you've got all my old ones
  9. really want to get over and stare at your tank for a while Cracker, steve's coming over here tomorrow, but maybe one day next week after work??
  10. and skippys in fiji
  11. the reflectors are good, but so are the bulbs, the colours and the brightness.
  12. Stop beating around the bush Fay, do you or don't you like Crackers tank?
  13. made the frame at work, and no, no pics yet, plenty of before, but will get the camera from work and take some after. Its made a big difference, as you know, tank much brighter, colours better, shaded areas in full light. Reef sems to think they are weak bulbs, but can't agree (with mine anyway). Much brighter than the arcadia unit, as I'd expected. And moved it down today, leather recovered ok
  14. ok, thought that might be the reason, just have to hope scar doesn't splash them
  15. Just have to see how the growth goes with these bulbs. Don't have covers but do I need them, I thought only DE needed glass for UV protection. These lights are considerably brighter, visually anyway, than the arcadias were even when they were new, and this is with them being so high at the moment.
  16. Thanks all. Duke, I was back as far as I can get in my little room . I am stunned at the way these bulbs have brought the colours out in my corals. The blues and greens are glowing, the purples much more pronouced, its great. :bounce: Hope to take some pic's when i borrow the camera from work, mines just a little fine pix rubbish thing. Need a better one.
  17. The metal frame was made strong!!!, specifically to carry the ballasts, and keep it tidy, the lights reflect the heat down, not much heat being generated up. The frame has wire mesh on it, to allow circulation.
  18. Steve's right. they will come down,(note the extra chain Chim) but there is a seriously high amount of light, and even at that height, it is shocking the leather at the moment. Chim, thanks for the PM, I'll be responding soon . The tank looks great and the colours even better - very, very pleased so far.
  19. well here they are in place and going, and the result is awesome. I really like the colour, and there are whole tank is lit, no dark areas. Brilliant!!!
  20. nice cracker, very nice.
