  1. Those Peru Angels are amazing. I almost got some from hovmoller, but decided to go the discus way. What a beautiful tank!
  2. Welcome to the forum. This is a great community with lots of good information!
  3. Hope you sort it out soon. It sounds like you've got it figured out.
  4. I don't think the price is too high. Looks like a very nice tank and cabinet.
  5. Wow that's really interesting, did you feed different food between the two? That might be the reason for the faster growth.
  6. Looks incredible! Good luck and can't wait to see it with the fish :-)
  7. It looks absolutely gorgeous! Well done.
  8. Awesome!!! That's how we all started, and then you get a second tank, and a third. It's such an awesome hobby! Welcome to the forums and good luck with your tank. Make sure you read up on the nitrogen cycle and enjoy setting up your tank. And most importantly, post some photos once you've got it up and running
  9. Selling these as I'm changing the stock in my fish tank. Have had them for 6 months, all are in excellent condition. Pick up in Howick area. Looking for any offer.
  10. Selling these as I'm changing the stock in my fish tank. Have had them for 7 months now, all in excellent condition, lively as ever! Pick up in Howick area. Looking for any offer.
  11. Thanks for the heads up Adrienne. I've heard of Ron having very good discus. Time to do a trip to the Shore this weekend.
  12. Hi, I'm looking to buy a single discus for my community tank. I've never had discus before, so starting small with only one at this stage. I've also heard that turquoise discus is a "hardier" one than some of the other ones that are single colour, so I'd prefer one that is more adaptable even though the water in my tank is in very good condition. Please let me know if you have any for sale and how much they cost?
  13. Can I purchase if Jaide doesn't? Don't want to steal from the person that posted first
  14. Wow! That tank looks really nice! Good luck with your new project and post some pics
  15. Congrats and well done!
  16. I think 6 discus would be way too many in a tank that size, I'd say 2 or at the very most 3 should be the maximum, but I'm not a discus pro. I've also read discus like lots of water above their head (ie. tall tanks) and yours is a shallow tank, so might not be the best suited for discus.
  17. Good work. Looks great
  18. Maaaaate, that drip water change system is something to strive for. Awesome work!
  19. I have 3 Chinese Algae Eaters (these guys) in a 215L tank and they cleaned it up within 2 days. I'd strongly recommend these. Plus they are quite cute as well.
  20. What a fantastic job. Looks stunning so far. Inspires me to look at doing this myself some day
  21. You could also consider some Bolivian rams or German Blue Rams for you bottom/mid level. If you get a couple they'll give you hours of entertainment
  22. Seachem Flourite and JBL Manado are both substrates with minerals in them that will help planted tanks. I personally have JBL Aquabasis underneath the gravel and I'm pretty happy so far, plants are going well.
  23. Hard to tell from the shot, but to recognise a male GBR you can look for 2 things: - Males have longer fins, so if they are long and wavy then they are most probably male; - Males have a longer second spike than the first spike in the top fin when spread out like in the photo. Hope that helps and you can recognise one way or the other.
  24. :gpo2: Looks awesome. Keep up the good work!
