  1. If has been in there for a year then he will be fine! You can try putting in other caves and he might move but if he likes it and uses it then theres no problem.... Why do you have to get him out?
  2. I have had this issue before with plecs getting stuck in soft wood caves. I had to cut the cave in half very gently because the spikes on the pectorial fins very stuck into the soft wood. I now no longer use the bamboo that is available around here. Is there any movement from the plec at all?
  3. Difference between L27 and L191 or L27 and L190? Identifying L27 and L190 is vvvvery difficult, I personally believe that they are simply different colour/locational forms of the L190. At the end of the day treat your typical grey/brown royal as the L190 and any of the others that may have a colour variation, for example slight green, yellow or gold tinge through them as one of the many L27 variants. You are always welcome to come have a look. although you may be dissapointed with my taller than wide tank haha

  5. Good work Geoff I agree! I'm going to work on the list tonight
  6. Sounds like the best idea. I hope this post won't get filled with random comments like the last one. It would be nice to have it as a resource to see what plecs are currently in NZ.

They will come down. Most breeders will keep their first batch of fry for future breeding. Young 3-4cm fry will be available within the next couple of years for $200 - $300 if not cheaper. If breeders sell direct to stores then the prices will be higher than direct to buyers
  8. The best way to cut down on the cost of food is to make your own bro.... There are plenty of receipes out there and you will know exactly what has gone into your food.
  9. Hi I need to get a small amount of rust removed from the top right corner of my firewall. I'm looking for a decent Panel beater and spray painter as I may get my bonnet resprayed at the same time. Thanks J
  10. I had 2 Bala sharks that were 20+cm each. I ended up giving them away as I couldn't find someone that was interested in buying them. Couldn't even sell them for $10 each.
  11. http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=35650 They do have quite a green appearance, very hard to pick a side really. I dont think anyone could say if it was L190 or L27 at this size and with any certainty. At the end of the day they are nice Panaques
  12. Very very nice Let me know when they are ready for breeding.... I will have a big female waiting for you
  13. Just chuck anything in and see how it goes. Some people have great success with tomato believe it or not. All tyopes of squash, crushed peas, the list goes on. Give pumpkina go, be warned, if you leave it in too long you tank will cloud and it makes a terrible mess if is starts to fall apart. I find cabbage and lettuce great for fry, although the lettuce tends to break up a lot quicker than the cabbage.
  14. Someone out there approached me about getting some of the above food..... Please get in contact if you were still interested in a bulk purchase. Cheers
  15. Hi I'm setting up a sump and im curious as to what size pipe to use to feed the sump. I want only one pipe and the return pump will be 3000l/Hr What would be the best size to use? 25mm, 32mm or 50mm? Cheers
  16. Does anyone know how to calculate the flow rate in 25mm and 32mm pipe? Gravity only over a drop of 1 - 1.2m Thanks James
  17. Hi Where is the best place to get PVC fittings pipe etc.. Thanks
  18. thanks you. So a few more is better than a few less. Thanks again
  19. What is the rule of thumb for the amount of rams (eg blue, neon and butterfly) that can be kept together in one community tank? Thanks
  20. lift it out of the water and leave it hanging above the water so once it wriggles out of the wood it will fall back into the tank or a well placed net in the water.....
  21. They can be agro towards one another but with enough hiding sopts and separate feeding areas they will be fine. Personally get one and then get yourself another type of pleco aswell.
  22. It might take some time for it to "learn" to like them..... Atleast it is eating well.
  23. Yes it is the L095 orange cheek. I have always wanted one of these but never ever found one. I havn't even seen one in person!
