  1. i liked it too, the copper piping is for his cooling system that then goes to a titanium heat transfer plate that makes contact with the salt water
  2. the height listed is 605mm, my stand is 750, so that doesnt leave much room for the base and sump. how much space do they need above the top of the collection cup to remove it??
  3. how did you keep it a female all that time????? would be handy to know
  4. the ap series are all rather tall so it would be hard to fit under my cabinet, they would be a great skimmer for when i dont have to have the skimmer under the tank
  5. might i suggest not googling ap850 by its self :-?
  6. ill have to see if i can get some second hand glass, what reccomendations can people make for a skimmer?? cause i want to make sure i leave enough room should i upgrade skimmer. ive been looking at the aquac ev series, i would definatly want something inline with the overflow. http://www.eaquanature.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=40_61_67&products_id=181
  7. about 150$, there are a few tank makers around that would do it for that price
  8. there is a little clarkii up here at the lfs
  9. i just dropped the stand off to get it tweaked, what would everyone suggest making the sump/fuge out of??? would an acrylic be cheaper than a glass one.
  10. i wouldnt rule out the possibilty of a hybrid then, it just seems to have small traits from a few fish, its pretty though
  11. closest i can see would be the Orange-fin Clownfish Amphiprion chrysopterus how old is it?? cause its body shape (especialy around the head) doesnt look completly formed and so the colours wouldnt be final either
  12. it almost looks like a cross between a black foot/melanopus and tomato
  13. not as cheap as the viaaqua's but check out this thread to see what you can do to them http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/showthread.php?s=84342e88dfcbcb580e9bd460d399b207&threadid=58771 obviously not the sort of thing youd want to do but even the really simple mods get a heap better performance than your normal tank
  14. i believe jansens or hollywoods sell the "nanocubes" with the fans and the built in over flow. those things would be fun to mod
  15. works never been so much fun, i need a little fish or a shrimp though
  16. its aquaone, they come in a few sizes, mineis the smallest of the range named the panorama 45 i think its about 3.5-4.5 gallons
  17. pies i think you have a point about the polyp extension, my monti looks like a furry red stick as i have it in a lower flow area but towards the tips where there is new growth and less polyps it is pinker
  18. welcome to the site, sounds youve got a nice tank already. be sure to chime in over in the saltwater section, dont be intimidated by them.
  19. i got mine from chris, looks the same now as it did in his tank, his was really low down and its quite alot closer to the light in my tank. what did it look like when you got it? does anyone else know that they have the same monti as chris? reef im sure you do (i think he got his from you) if so what does it look like?
  20. how much for the green one? remember i'm not getting at you reef, i have brought acros from you in the past and am happy to do so again but its hard for me to go to auckland and then out to your house just to see of theres something i want, you should move closer to the city centre to make it easier for me
  21. again i come back to hat i said about the shops, everytime i visit the shops in auckland there might be one or two montis but i have never seen any thing close to the corals i know are around reef, you comparing your corals to what is available to everyone else is not really fair, the people that post their pics on RC are ordinary folk like me
  22. do you mean the big stag on the right hand side of your tank??
  23. thought that would get a reply ive never seen anyone on this site saying that they wouldnt pay a little extra for some really nice colours, i know i talked about it with wasp and both agreed that its well worth the money to pay a little extra for something nice.
  24. the secret society of nice acro hoarders might be to blame. has anyone ever seen what the americans call a bali slimer?? fast growing green stag
