really good idea, i really dislike fidling with lights. i've thought about that too but Iam waiting to for my own house

i noticed that my brothers tank gathered allot less gunk than mine other tank, the only difference was the type of sand mine was crushed coral sand, his was an argonite (spelling) type very white course granuled sand (it almost looked like a crushed white marble) his not only gathered less gunk but it also looked alot nicer (color) (imo) why not syphon some out to your dsb in the sump and increase that a bit more?? (shouldnt have any adverse effects, but get some input on that from the experts)

are you wanting a deep sandbed or is the 2" just becuase thats howmuch you put in when you started the tank for cosmetics and as a base for bio diversity? i would siphon out some of the sand to be about 1" or add more to create a true dsb. a fortnightly vacuum sounds like a very good habit, (at least initially) what kind of sand do you have/??

more light for the bubble to give you an idea, i have a tank of slightly smaller dimensions and i currently use a 150Wmh on my smaller tank i was using the same light you are now, but found the corals were only surviving and not growing, also a tang in a tank that size is borderline imo. (even if it is a yellow tang)

can they make me a cool fish tank??

ohhhhhh a cube. awesome what are the dimensions?? i would suggest (unless really deep) two 150W mh one at 10k and one at 20k if deep then one 250 at 14k and a few t5s (i'd think two)

i personally reccomend the bank option as it only takes a few months of ob's to scope out the whole system and workings of the bank, where as getting into a position of power to be able to rob a country (albeit a small one) is very time consuming

i feed flake every day, only two fish and two shrimp, they eat it as soon as it hits and most of the time from my hand. i also give frozen food once a fortnight (alternating between marine tucker and frozen mysis) pies does your blenny like the nori???

what if the outlet is only 1mm?? wouldnt that increase the pressure???

im interested to know if you would need a reactor for a softy tank.. i woudnt have thought that it would make to much of a difference (ie would be nice but not really needed)????????

sound like the little crustations that statred growing in my tank a while ago. do they have a tube like structure curled around its self or are they just plain blothces of white?

as i said i got a frag from steve, mine actually does better directly under the halide at the bottom of the tank (its recently grown quite abit since i moved it to give it more light) its all relative to howmuch light you actually have

that aint no torch fool (to be read like mr T was saying it) but yeah it does normally look more puffy normally when the polyps are subtracted, (mine looks like that at night)
