  1. no we don't mean blue caeruleus, they are completely different.
  2. doesn't look right to me. Looks like fryeri cross azureus? Could just be a pure fryeri. How old is he?
  3. I assume you mean the catfish? they are synodontis multipunctatus and I believe there are some around. At some stage some got brought in under that name but that's not what they were.
  4. I usually have quite abit to sell, yellows 2.5cm $5ea. ob zebras 3cm $5ea. and some not awesome coloured but stil good looking orange zebras 3cm $5. I was going to be selling some electric blue haps but I lost 23 yesterday in a nitrite spike so I have decided to keep the rest. Try the other malawiman
  5. don't they only live for 18 months?
  6. hmm, I haven't re-registered, does this mean that I can still get this issue if I pay the subs now?
  7. I find it funny that if you look closely at the small venustus that come into shops you can easily pick out the odd fusco. Pretty disappointing reall. I have seen this a few times.
  8. females quite often have eggs spots too in a number of species.
  9. females can also have faint male colouring on the right angle. Venting them is the only way.
  10. looks like a I have a female holding. Will see what comes out of this lot.
  11. in aulonocara species the males have white lines along the dorsal fin. You may have 2 females. Maybe give venting a go - http://www.malawimayhem.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2011
  12. around 2 inches  Mine are all 5-6 cm and the males are pretty much coloured up.
  13. mine were brought in quite some time ago, before the "blue melanochromis" started coming in. I have vented them and I have 2 males and 4 females I think.
  14. I have 5 or 6 what I think are maingo. Males and females are blue, females are not as strikingly coloured. I had a pair a while back and I got 10 fry before the male died but I still have the female. All fry were the same.
  15. none yet, this is their first time breeding since i got them about 2 months ago I think it was.
  16. Here is a pretty crappy video of my dragon blood peacocks breeding. One female bred yesterdat morning and one this morning
  17. when she tries to "pick up" the egg spots on his anal fin she gets a mouth full of............. you get the idea. *EDIT* I think they might sometime be fertilised on the ground as well. I just watched my dragon bloods breed, got some videos, I might put them up later. I think one of the other females is going to breed today as well.
  18. Awesome stuff, they are definately in my top 5 malawis. Haven't got mine to hold for more than a few days yet.
  19. yes, I haven't seen them on the wholesale lists but they are around, I have 5 of them.
  20. the chulumbda has a orangish flecks in the tailfin, usually in the other fins too. Yours is a royal blue maybe?
  21. for africans it doesn't really matter, just go for a good bright light, although with 2 tubes they wont need to be too bright.

yeah, my dominant baenschi male is awesome, the tank that the baenschi are in is very hard to photograph though because it is only about 20cm off the ground and it has an aquaclear 500 sitting on the front.
