My ones are not even close to sunset on those pictures. :facepalm:

I hope I have the right plant. I got it from Animates and specificly asked for it as both rosanervig and sunset. It is light bright green, but I have not noticed any viens on it

I will do a test tonight, but Idon't think that will be an issue as I do a WC every other day. All I want to see is a little bit of colour, just so I know that the plants are sunset, not the plain green weed. I have grown one stem with these lights and it got colour so I am sure they are strong enough

Now now Ira, no need for nasty comments about Africans. Besides I am still keeping my Tangs, its just these mod that I won't own. My flatmate bought them off of me so I still get to look at them at least :happy2:

I keep mine together, but the Julies are pretty young still. I have not had any issue with mine at all in the same tank

Havn't pulled it apart yet, we have to sort out Nathans tank first so he can home this lot. That is todays jobbie. Thanks. Iam hoping the next project can top this as I really enjoy this tank. Its also an end of an era for me, I won't have any more Malawi cichlids &c:ry.

Yeh its a stunner, since I have moved things about I see it and the other plecos a heck of a lot more. It is great! Funy you say that, my flatmate and I were talking about that last night.Maybe a planted tank is in the pipeline.... I do realy like the wood only open look (David R has inspired this) but I will be adding a few rock soon, I just need to find the ones that I want and put them in to match the tank I guess. I have some ferns and Anubius to add so I mite attach them to the rocks. I am a little disapointed in the colour of the substrate, I wanted jet black. But considering it was free I can't complain. And it has done its job, it has brought some colour out in the fronts and doesn't trap the poop. So mission accomplished

There is enough light to keep the others red. So that should be enough for them to grow the pink, I hope. 3 weeks later still no pink tinge.

How long does it take for this plant to mature from green too pink?

I did a rescape last week. Do we put bets on how long the plants will last......

He got some Kenyi off of me that I got as fry, I never grew them out so I am not sure if they are pure of hybrid.

What plants have you tryed? That sounds like one hardcore 5,000

I have my 12,000 aimed at a big bit of wood at one end so it breaks the flow, and halfway along the 5,000 points to the front glass breaking the flow again. I seldomly see any fish being pushed off of their course unless they swim rite up close to it, but that would happen with the spray bar anyway

What makes you think the 5,000LPH is too much for your 2m Smidey? I have a 12,000 and 6,000 in my tank and don't get that impression

No I didn't change a thing, mainly because I am running 2 sumps so I changing the water level just isnt gunna happen. I didn't notice any spill in my nonsumped tanks, I figure if its big enough to move a decent amount of water out of the tank, its probably big enough to move the tank of a stand

I would think that a 1200 would do a good enough job, so 1000 and 500 should be fine. But the bigger the better, if you can get another 1000 or 1200 do that. Or try something in the sunsun range, or a small Eheim or Fluval

I always put my spray bars on the side to push from one end to the other.But that maybe personal preferance over function. Or you could have one on the side, one on the back. Yeh, it would most likely give the swirly wirly motion in your tank.Your Africanos will love it

For the price of an internal, you could nearly get a small canister and run them both, one at each end.
