if the motor is stuffed the electromagnet that spins the impeller will not be working. if the impeller is stuffed then its easy fix. just replace the impeller btw I know it sounds silly but check that your RCD hasn't tripped, that has to be the most common cause of pump problems I have to deal with :facepalm:

I haven't tried it before but I have been told to always put a layer of filter wool above any peat used to remove the soil debris that comes with it. -
messing with your tank is the best part of it.... unless you get the strangeness I have with my Mudflat tank where its constantly changing and perfectly balanced.... I couldnt bear to change it except to remove a few cone snails.... btw had a baby chiton show up the other day.....

is there a cheap and easy way to test if there is still magnetics going on in the impeller chamber??? just wondering as I have to fix pumps all the time
