  1. imo you may have found a centipede or other that has fallen in and been covered in a fungal growth, hence the clear slime layer.

  8. most of the time they are motoring around your tank looking for detritus, as long as the stone aint razor sharp you will not have a problem.

  16. plus the amount of copper sulphate you use is miniscule (around 0.5g for a 800Ltr pond) and you'll need to get special scales to measure it accurately. imo trapping and loaches are the best option if your going the copper route tho it would be worth buying a watered down product like snail rid to help you measure quantities accurately. or you could set up a dwarf puffer tank.......

  18. if you look in the right places you can sort out lotsa plants for free, got some nice Green lud from the local creek, just make sure you know the bad ones before you go collecting,.
  19. some times my job is entertaining, today I helped set up a 600Ltr Discus tank for a 7 yr old girl with pink, purple white and black gravel.... end result is wicked filtration, a strict maintenance regime and pink, purple black and white gravel...... I also recommended sunglasses when the lighting system goes in.
