i'm more looking for second cousins, we are from NZ, not Tasmania
all I know is that my original pair was from different breeders, and that I've had one out cross in 5 generations, so its kinda due a new one.
don't want to be selling dodgy fish.
I have a couple of nice leopard fish breeders (male and female) I want to trade to strengthen the genetics in the leopard fish in the country. anyone want to do a swap???? it would benefit both of us. the more people in on this the better for us all.
have a funny feeling the gene base in the fish available is very limited atm
being a poor student with bad priorities (all my $$$ on fish and study) I need a new cell phone (mine went for a swim)
if anyone is throwing out an old one, any type even a brick in Tauranga I'm really keen to take it off your hands.
could pay you back with a free brain picking session if you want
if you need any writing done I'm available, they seem to be teaching me quite well atm
plus I have a natural ability for writing as anyone on here can attest to
yeah currently studying waste water treatment, the bardenpho method is just like a simple sump method. I had a chat to the manager about the moving media idea and she liked it. i'll have to email a link for her.
wait till you turn it on, the aquascape will change love the idea though, what about mounting the pump outside of the tank with an outlet hose, the pumps are fine as long as they don't get an air lock and you don't notice it (you will airlocks are noisy). priming it initially will be the main problem
plus you'll find the smaller stones will move quite a bit. even the smallest aquaone powerhead can shift 4-6mm gravel effectively.
other than that :spop: :spop: :spop:
ahhh, definition of open, didn't mean bare sandy area, meant open as in not looking like a jungle. "open" could be a really cool branchy bit of drift wood as a jungle-gym for the loaches
here's one for everyone to share, the original HQ one is in your email
told you I was getting better
well I got a heap of feild work to do soon so lotsa nice pics hopefully. If anyone in TGA has a small photo tank for me to borrow I would be stoked
mechanical filtration is normally a very minor part of the filtration required in a standard tank most of the mechanical filtration in most filters is actually acting as biological. only time I have found mechanical to be important is when keeping pleco's with their sawdust bums
I use them to fertilize the riparian plants seagulls love them too.
oh well heres the first pic, still gotta organize the hoses (need something to lift the filter up) and one sunken bit of driftwood suddenly decided to float.
I say African would be very interesting in a scientific way,
the tiger barb and loach tank would be very exciting to watch. maybe with a school of hatchets to ad some surface action.
tank 2 would require a large open area on the bottom of the tank though, whereas the african tank could be planted a lot heavier.
yeah, common little guys. keep getting asked for a spot though and this is the first easy to access public spot I've found, its less than 20m from the carpark and is a nice picnic spot and swimming hole for kids. just about all the other sites I used to catch them from are full of mosquito fish now :an!gry :an!gry
hrmmm..... I wonder if anyone in my class wants to do a study on the effects of Mosquitofish on MCI scores.....
