(unless I want to give it all away) and to those who have them, white bread makes them breed, luncheon sausage makes the get bigger.
  2. +1 very good advice, get some leathers at least, I came off at around 20km and that hurt bad enough. and buy a decent full face helmet, that way even if you do look like a wally, no one knows who you are!!! (but don't dress like a patched up member on a scooter, good way to get bashed

  4. yeah, I've always done large scale, like 6-8 poly boxes at a time
  5. Mopeds are safe as, as long as you ride them with the knowledge that every one else on the road is trying to kill you
  6. Hi there, have access to a large white worm culture but want one at home. would it be feasable to do one in an icecream container, or would this be too small. only want enough to feed a couple of rams and 4 leaopard fish every so often so don't really need too much
  7. Aussie banks, Westpac in Townsville was the worst, had about 50 fighters scatteered around the branch
  8. I alway like to have at least 5 of a schooling fish, preferably 8-10 try and get a 1male to2-3 female ratio to make the males be their best. what was the other fish you were wanting to school with them?

1/2 inch piping is a major limiting factor due to the friction it causes, you would get better results just upsizing outside of the tank and leaving the 1/2 inch inlet/outlet. the 90 degree bends are restricting flow by up to 40%, a lot better to have a peice of flexi hose with a shallow bend in it. when the filter was under the tank it had gravity pushing out all air locks. now you really need to ensure it is 100% air free before starting it up. Have seen an Eheim classic running next to a tank before and its flow rate was a Heap better than normal anyone can tst this by walking up to their tank and lifting their filter up to see what happens.
  14. Quite cheap too cosidering, and you probably only want small quantities
  15. oooooooh, where did you get them from??? is it 3 males??? or do you have a female? are you interested in selling??? (strangely enough I currently have 1 spare tank, or at least room to put one in)
  16. try Tauranga drivers, they are the worst I've every run into, and i've lived in Wellington, Auckland, Townsville, Brisbane, Ayr, Hamilton. and also driven all the way round both NZ and Aussie.
  17. what about astroturf??, range of colours, better than bare bottom, easy to clean, soft on bottom dwellers and if you get sick of it, just peel it off the bottom. dunno if its toxic tho, but I doubt it
  18. dunno if any are around, last time I saw them was in Aussie, 3 months before I returned, so I had to pass them up then they are quite small fish, (max 2.5cm) so only need a nano tank of around 20-40L to breed in
  19. would have to say my dream fish atm is the scarlet badis (Dario dario) always wanted to breed them, but never any round when I'm able to have them
  20. saw a guy in Aussie pellet training his barra by tying a pellet loosely to a fishing lure and working it across the surface, worked first time after a few days he removed the lure and just dragged the pellet across the surface, 2 days later and the barra was wolfing down pellets whenever they were offered
  21. the problem with dehumidifier water is that is collects impurities out of the air, so if there is a smoker around, or you use bug spray then the water gets pretty toxic pretty quickly. Try an automotive supply shop, or a hydroponics supply shop. or go to a brewers barn and buy the gear to distil your own water. just remember that with purified water you lose all the good minerals as well.

top recessed into the water???, how the fishies getting oxygen????
  23. its an old trick to heat up the water to increase metabolism and therefore growth, in heated tanks the breeders can get up to 4 times the growth out of their fish, which cuts down costs considerably
  24. and it hates salt, as I found out the hard way
