i have a 4wd and head up any river after a flood they are usually covered in wood i also got a permit from environment Canterbury (it dosnt cost) and then you can take a chain saw and cut as much up as u like.I use it to get fire wood and then if i stumble across something for the tank just chop it out and chuck it in the truck easy

mine are fine with each other and i have had the chains from very little and the big clowns are around 20cm

If it were me id just buy fish that live in water that is close to my tap water way less stress makes water changes a breeze :cofn:

they are the coolest fish imo so much attitude i no its the wrong setup but david said on mfk he was thinking about adding some and i agree

Hi i have a rainbow shark in with my loaches they don't bother each other but they do have 1200L to avoid each other in. Really depends on the attitude of the fish sometime u get a angry fish for no reason. as for algae it does nibble on bba but doesn't do anywhere near as gooder job as ugly old chinese algae eaters

You are correct. The water the the fish absorbs stays as water and doesnt change.

My brother and i have had a discussion he thinks if I had a fish tank full of water and 1 fish the water level would drop because the fish would drink or absorbs the water turning the water into energy and energy evaporating thus dropping the water level. I thought the fish in the tank would absorb the water using it in its system and pissing it back into the tank and the water level would never change not including evaporation. Can anyone tell me if either of us is correct?

Id be taking some water into your lfs and getting them to test it for you. surly it should of cycled by now :-?

Do you no anyone near you with an established tank and a filter you could borrow (just the filter)? that will quick fix your cycling problems (if that's the problem). I also have a uv light on my filters which i flick on as soon as i see any iffy fish

she has just raised the temp for the clown loaches and salt isn't good with them anyway. it will be going through a cycling still do frequent little water changes keep an eye on parameters and it should come right

Thats all ok then. I run my loach tank at 29 degrees i find them much more active in the higher end of temp range (be careful what your other fish can handle though). Clown loaches can grow to 12 inch's and will need a larger tank as they grow but they do take AGES!! as David R said a pic of the actual fish would help check out loaches online all you ever need to no about loaches is on there my money is still on there hierarchy though

They will be sorting out the hierarchy most likely, mine are always at it. If one isn't getting food try feeding at both ends so the boss gets distracted and try provide more hiding places. just in case check your water conditions. I presume its a cycled tank?

ya can still get them but $50 a fish pretty steep
