  1. the RTS was well dead when i flushed it. i wouldn't ever flush a sick fish, it's quite cruel. plus i'd never miss the opportunity to kill something for good reasons. anyway, let's not get off topic. it seems that this mystery disease is widespread enough to cause concern. but it seems that nobody here can actually help much at all... possibly the wrong place to seek aquatic expertise.. maybe i should ask the staff at animates...
  2. i think you guys need to read up on the sewage treatment process before you go running your uneducated opinions all over the place.
  3. so before i flush the carcass of the RTS that just died is there something i should look for?
  4. it's not the water, or water conditions. i've had this problem in last house in glenfield now i'm in milford same thing. it only started 10 months ago, i've been keeping fish for around 5 years. also, my other fish are sweet, convict is super active and very colourful, jag is colouring up nicely, all other fish are acting normal. it's just that every now and then, one fish starts acting drunk and is dead within hours. sometimes the scales fall off them, sometimes nothing seems wrong with them. it's really quite frustrating.
  5. RTS dead. gonna have to stop adding fish till i sort this out. hoping fnzas can help...
  6. about to lose another fish to it. nice big red tail shark, been acting drunk all morning. there is a lot of aeration in my tank, more than the usual
  7. cheers and sorry guys it no longer can come with a hutch
  8. quick someone take it before i go and do something silly like get attached to it...
  9. LOL ira. i really like the layout of this tank, how it builds up in height to the driftwood and the wood hides the pipes. well done
  10. needs to find a new home asap. nothing wrong with it, quite docile and healthy. i asked around a few petshops, they have no room, took him to animates, they were super rude and unhelpful (as usual) and said they won't ever take any unwanted pets. free to good home, can come with hutch if you wanna pick it up from beach haven. bunny is in milford.
  11. zombiefish and i have been having the same problem. symptoms all similar, seemingly healthy fish, random deaths, weeks sometimes months apart. affected the africans the worst, wiped out her whole tank and i suspect it might have also hit an oscar, texas and bgk from my tank as all these fish have died similar and unexplainable deaths. there was one group of hybrid african cichlids we shared between our tanks a while back and they are the only fish we have ever shared between our two aquariums. all of them died from this "fish plague" while they were still juvis..
  12. my presence is presents enough for everyone
  13. i've got just the solution. i call it the live food method.
  14. aww guys.. they will be loving it up there in fishy heaven. i got mine at 25cm two and a half years ago and he stayed 25cm no matter what i fed him. still alive in my friends planted tank, she feeds it bloodworms and shrimp when it's not eating all her guppies and digging up plants and still being 25cm.
