  1. Lol glad your not in Christchurch with a stand like that it would fall over in no time :happy1: but that would also be a disaster :tears:
  2. I don't plan on doing it full-time because I can not move to the coast arnt this point in time and dad always shares his maps with me It certainly is better than the Dole. Many people could comfortably lice on 1k a week. As I found out in 2011 for 2 weeks. We use a vanture system too but I'm building my own little sluice box at the moment out of scraps found around the house. I'd love to try black sand one day ;-)
  3. Its much easier when you know people with very old maps and their own claim those places don't a hell of alot of good there. You would be surprised at what you can find
  4. I'm interested to know if anyone here is interested in gold fosiking? I've been doing off and on for a while now. Although no one likes to give their spots away where are some good places?. Gold is currently around $2000 at the moment so fingers crossed someone hits pay dirt!
  5. Had my new tank cycling all of about 2 days and nowwww i am holding out at this stage(again) to set it up (again) just in case! i was working at work and income in Kaiapoi and as soon as it hit we shut up. and it took 20 mins to get outta the car park. we were in the middle of moving stuff back to our new Amberley house so we kinda hurried that up. and i also don't have a computer after it fell off the table
  6. Where did you buy your meanwells from?
  7. Ohhh thanks. What's wrong with the drivers that came with them?
  8. I an assuming you arnt running a sump? Just wondering ... and just running a Skimmer? Also the leds are they the dimmable kit set?
  9. we would consider moving into town. can you pm me the details please? when your moving date is, address etc?
  10. My partner(soon to be wife this time next week), my 9 mth old son, and I are in need of a house to move into. we want to stay in north Canterbury because its where i work and love it out this way. we need a 2-3 bedroom house. its pretty hard to find a CHEAPER place and i cant really affored $350 for a 2 bedroom house(for a rental anyway) we cant extend our lease on this place and need to be gone by the 15th of October. (Obviously our landlord doesnt like tenants who pay rent on time and everyweek without missing a beat!) our plan at the mo if nothing turns up is a very nice caravan at the holiday park! so if anyone might be able to help or know someone who might be able to help let me know
  11. I am a St. John youth manager and i had cadets telling that it looked like CRANE DRILL! lol i thought it was awesome. drill for anyone who doesn't know is marching and all that kinda thing. but this was crane drill! lol I watched the opening ceremony and thought it was spectacular, i especially loved the screen on the field. all you people out there who are being all anti rugby GET OVER IT!! be thankful its being held in NZ and not another part of the world where we would have almost no involvement in it I am not a big rugby fan but i'm supporting my team
  12. I guess there is many many ways of saving money. ya just gotta really think or ask advice. anyone got an off grid power system?
  13. there always really cleaning out your gutters and then just placing a plastic drum at the end of the downpipe? then you just need to get it out of the drum
  14. There is always the idea of drilling your own well for free water. but then you need somewhere to need to drill it :dunno:
  15. the first thing i buy for the week(besides the rent) is formula, nappies, and wipes for my son, normally about $60-$80 a week depending on the specials and then fuel to get to work. if it means i have to give up on the healthy food for cheap and unhealthy food so i can affored to buy stuff for my son so be it! i agree all the un healthy food is alot cheaper in most cases but if you shop around you can get some cheaper vegies and meat. i normall go raid dads garden for vegies if we need some lol and some meat out of his frezzer because he has lots of sheep for meat! lol
  16. Write it all down in plain English on a bit of paper for your parents to refer back to in case they forget how to do something
  17. and the power bills are increasing! i budget $280 a week for everything minus rent which is definitly not enough. but we have to deal with it dont we? I never really knew how to budget until i started working as a security officer in a winz office.......
  18. but it all adds up doesnt it. i was surpised at how much you actually spend on things. lol i spent $550 at redwood aquatics lol(which is not suprising.)
  19. i am ashamed to say. in the past 52 weeks i have spent $1085 on fast food. i dont think ill be buying anymore anytime soon.
  20. Found that you spend so much money on something you really haven't had much prolonged enjoyment from it? and you realise you could be saving more?
  21. the fish are about 3-4 cm each not big at all. there is plenty of room for them to swim in. i have seen goldfish much bigger than that esp in Hongkong. they are massive and they are everywhere(ponds, water fetures etc) i have tried talking to her about a bath or a pond but she came out right and said NO lol cos she doesnt want our baby son falling in it(even with a small fence around it) he is almost crawling too.
  22. Haha we acutally burst out laughing when we read that!! but great idea tho. :happy1:
  23. that doesnt sound like clownfish lol
