Yes same here. we have had to replace our jug once in the 6 months weve been here. i thought that might happen with something in the aquarium. Might be cheaper and easier to drive to Kaiapoi 20 mins away and get a large tank of water from there. i think that's about the only place in Canterbury where they have not put chlorine in the water. If not ill go for the rain water.

I also believe there is abit of sediment because it settles on every surface including the bath.

No no, no fish in there yet. we have been given some fish but need to set the tank up first and cycle it I have a external filter for it so that would work?

Filling up our big 180L tank today. water is very brown due to a huge concentration of lime. My Question. how do i get rid of the lime and brown tinge the water has?

help to transport a car from Timaru to Amberley

Hey everyone. i need to transport a car thats not %100 driveable(has rust in the roof, no side window, no rego or warrent) from Timaru to Amberley about 20mins north of Christchurch. as soon as we can get it here. i cant offer much but i can cover costs for a transporter trailer(max of $70) and $100 for fuel If anyone can help it would much appreciated! -
the idea was suggested to created a planted apisto tank. the dimensions are 850mm x 50mm x 50mm. my plan was just to use normal shingle stones at the bottom. looking at a community style tank. something bright and beautiful. the light i was given with the tank so dont really know much about it but its 600mm long and is a T8??

Loving the idea. not too sure the light would be good enough for a planted tank tho. i think its a 60cm t8. but its in the corner of the picture anyway.

So ive been given a new but old fishtank. its about 200L they gave me a good light for it too. it had 3 filters but ill use the external one in the picture. i was given this and need some ideas. any suggestions?

I have had this combination before and had no problems in a 60L tank? I want rainbow sharks.

I have purchased some tank equipment from overseas. i consider it to be bought second hand because to send it back for warranty would not be worth it. i could be sending something that cost me $60 and it may cost $50 to send it back halfway around the world so it wouldnt be worth the effort or money. I have decided i will stick to the local shops and trademe
