  1. That was my understanding too.
  2. We recommend the right ink for your printer and do not like the cheap ones or refills. We sell all the common brands sold with printers.
  3. Oscars are good at sulking aren't they?
  4. Good to see you Craig. Welcome. Hope you find lots of help here if required.

    Hey

You feed your cory eggs? :-? Welcome to the fishroom David. There seem to be a number here who like the 'tank busters'.
  6. Rob we sell and repair computers (not Macs), printers, scanners etc. We also sell digital cameras and anything else that goes into, or attaches to, a computer. This also includes selling specialty papers, inks and all that other sort of stuff. Grant actually does the computing side while I do design and printing. I bought him an MX5 convertible and suggested he could buy me a colour laser in return, which he did. Now we are both happy and share our toys with each other.
  7. Hi Rob and welcome. The nearest club to you is Kapi-Mana and they are very active with several of their members belonging to this forum. You sound like us - my husband and I have been keeping fish for around 20 years and he is a computer tech too (also does radio link work for Telecom and Vodafone) and we have our own computer company working from home.
  8. It's a dream Warren so your power would be free
  9. Very nice pics Andrew, and nice fish too
  10. It should be fine as long as the pump works well to keep the water flowing through. I have never had an UGF go bad (fins crossed). How do you get an UGF into a tank which already has fish and gravel in it? Not easy but possible I guess. :-?
  11. Do you vacuum the gravel when you do water changes? If nothing is wrong with the tanks then leave the filters as they are. I have run UGFs continually for many years without cleaning them out - which requires a total tank strip. Some people say plants don't grow so well with UGFs but I never had a problem.

    Finding Nemo

That would be telling! Go see it with the grandchidren Pegasus

    Finding Nemo

You've gotta go see this film! I loved it! Might even say it is better than Shrek. My mother now wants to know how we could be so cruel to keep fish in tanks  My favourites in the film were the seagulls, turtles and Dory, the blue tang with the short term memory loss.

    Finding Nemo

Well, I am off to find Nemo this lunchtime. Want to see it before school holidays start and the theatre is full of noisy kids  Going to Subway for lunch then see the film with mum and dad, then meet up with friends for afternoon tea in a cafe in town. A nice way to spend a cold, wet (Yay! we NEED the rain) afternoon. Boy some of us have a hard life! I deserve some time off.
  15. Ah, you are quite right Ira. Thank you, I stand corrected. I was mixing topping up with water changes.

    Filters

Welcome to the fishroom by the way!

    Filters

Depending on stocking levels, and tank maintenance, you don't necessarily need a filter at all. I use a variety of filters, depending on what is available, the size of the tank and what sort of fish are in the tank. Do you have 18 tanks of goldfish? Are they separated by variety? Corner and sponge filters are fine for smaller sized fish but larger fish need more filtration. I like HOB ('hang on the back' like AquaClear or Whisper brands) filters or external canister filters because I like to keep as much equipment as possible out of the tank itself.
  18. I don't think you are meant to add salt at water changes as salt does not evaporate. Do you mean you add just 1Tbs for the whole tank goldie?
  19. Bumblebee gobies are brackish water fish and I personally would not put them in a community tank, though others may disagree. Depending on what sort you have it may be easy to keep, or difficult. For instance... Brachygobius doriae is black with orange bands and fairly difficult to keep. My Baensch Atlas says they are best kept in a species tank with 1 - 2 Tbs salt per 10 litres of water. They prefer small live foods Brachygobius nunus is black with yellow bands and easy to keep. There is also a Brachygobius xanthozona and it will not accept flake food. I don't think I would put these fish in with 3 spot gouramis.
  20. I have travelled with fish and axolotls and never had anyone want to x-ray them. Just tell them what you have and they will be very helpful I am sure.
  21. Watch for leftover bits falling and polluting the tank though. Why would anyone voluntarily eat lambs fry?

    Website Update

Looking good Mark but I had trouble reading the small white font against the bright blue background. Check it out people, it's well worth a look!

    Finding Nemo

I don't need to take a kid to act like one myself!

    Finding Nemo

I don't think any of us are negative on the film itself, just the irresponsible people who are willing to sell real fish to little kids afterwards. It has arrived in theatres here so I plan to see it (during school hours in the hope there aren't too many little kids present  ) before the holidays start.
