  1. Avoid plecostomeeces (mices, omi?), silver dollars, Buenes Aires tetras for a start.
  2. Asking questions is a lot of what we are here for - well, answering them is anyway Whether you ask them together or not depends on the questions. If they are inter-related then ask together but sometimes you may get a better response if you post each question in the appropriate thread.
  3. Good to hear. I was staring to worry. A lot seem to have got temporarily mislaid en route.

What sort of filter do you have disneyworld? If you still have just the smaller fish like guppies, I would keep them in a spare plastic container (a bucket or barrel perhaps) with the heater and filter running in it. They will survive a week. That way when you set the tank up again you won't have to cycle it, if the tank isn't overstocked. You will get a mini cycle, depending on how much water you can save but if you can keep the filter running it will be easy. Good luck with the shift.
  5. I have daphnia wok but I doubt it would travel well that far. I hope to have enough to take some for the auction at the National Show in Napier in Sept. That howling southerly sweeping across the salt ponds was a killer wasn't it Alan? .
  6. What do you mean by 'one section missing' wok?
  7. Have peas for tea and pop one cooked one out of its shell and feed that to the bristlenose. Or a piece of cucumber (no need to cook it)
  8. It also helps if you actually attend club meetings to pick up your card. Why should they have to send it to you? (Unless you live too far out of town to attend meetings).
  9. Mine were eggs gathered from the salt works and just dumped in a container of sea water with some sand in the bottom. I then left them. They were never fed or anything.
  10. Ah you got sent a bulk lot split in 2 envelopes didn't you? I gather you got one envelope but not the other. The name tags were all in one of them but not your name as it was sellotaped to one of the envelopes. I definitely put mags in for you though. The breeding one I will bring to Napier. The one sent is for the NZKA
  11. If you send them to the treasurer then that will be correct Janey. Our secretary IS our treasurer so I did not differentiate

Has it occurred to you it might be the rock that has laid the eggs? Hmm? Where do you think sand comes from?
  13. I read on another forum where someone's child fed their fish a glass of milk along with the tub of food. At least you know to keep the food out of reach now
  14. Er, which half did you get Alan? Can't help you re Fiji doch as we were on a resort island so didn't see any tanks.
  15. Lotsa plants, specially fine leaved ones like Java moss, are ideal for the babies to hide in. Remember it doesn't matter if the danios get some - if they didn't you would soon be over-run with fry!
  16. Thank you all. I was starting to worry about where they had got to!
  17. Then again, it is also possible Janey has sent it to the wrong secretary by mistake!
  18. The cards are sent to the person listed as club secretary according to the list the club sent for the YB.
  19. I would think full grown brine shrimps would be too big for guppies. Mine were gathered as eggs from Lake Grassmere Saltworks.
  20. Where are you? I am willing to come and visit you and help before you buy more fish or unneccessary meds, kits or equipment.
  21. Do you give discount to just your club members or all FNZAS members Kim? If all, why is your shop not listed in the magazines as offering discount? I would speak sternly to your club officers Midas!
  22. Yes we did it for fun. I gather adult brine shrimp have very little nutritional value as a food though.
  23. The cards get sent bulk to your club secretary who should send them out ASAP - usually with the next club newsletter (if your club has one).
  24. Thank you Logan. Fish_tank did a nice article didn't he?
  25. Err, where would we find some old vinegar Bill?
