  1. I would need to read the specific thread to be able to comment. It is possible they weren't serious. I have vague memories of some joking going on some time ago re fish sizes and compatibility so perhaps you have seen a small bit of that and misunderstood. I have never heard anyone advising arowanas could be kept in the 2ft tank - quite the opposite in fact.
  2. Hard to comment on something so vague and generalised. Do you have some specifics? You can read as many books as you like (out of date or not) and still find the information within contradictory, no different from a forum.
  3. Hmm I will contact Warren. Perhaps it was not updated :-?
  4. On the bed huh? Can't get more personalised than that - unless it was passed through the toilet door  That's was I call service
  5. At the bottom of the index under the moderator sections. Have you not been added to it? :-? Kind thought barrie, we will have to eat the local ones
  6. Sorry you can't make it (but pleased about the drinks  ) Answer my post to you in the exec section would you please?

Welcome. I thought Cleveland was in the USA 8)
  8. The Tasman and Marlborough fish clubs are having a combined BBQ at my place, 8a Faulkland Drive, Blenheim. Sunday Feb 24th 10.30am onwards. BYO meat and stuff. We will supply a BBQ to cook it on plus tea, coffee and juice. BYO alcohol if required. Plenty of seating available Have just found out one of our members is bringing along fresh mussels to share After lunch and a talk we will head up the Waihopai to visit Sally Jackson and her 2 marine and 2 fresh water tanks. The marine tanks are 4ft and 6ft I think (or bigger) from memory. Well worth seeing. ALL WELCOME! Please let me know if you are attending so I know how much drink to get
  9. Bud was very impressed but said he would be able to do that too if his feet were as big
  10. I can go away for 2 weeks without feeding them and they are fine. I have odessas and BNs breeding in there so they can't be too starved. The tank has been running many years now.
  11. Could be well and truly pregnant. Maybe,if you think she has been too fat too long, she has a stuck fry (breech or something). That is known to happen. One gets stuck and blocks the rest.
  12. Sadly, I received a letter today from the club secretary to say that due to falling numbers, the Wairarapa Aquarium and Pond Society has reluctantly gone into recess. Unfortunately, this also means the planned Livebearer Show, to be held at Labour Weekend, is now cancelled . Any other club want to take over the Livebearer Show?? Kapi-Mana, it should be right up your alley 8)
  13. There is a sticky at the top of the FNZAS club section explaining how to go about it Lynda Yes, your last sub expired Nov 06
  14. I have photos of AMAZONIAN's fishroom if he gives permission for them to be shown
  15. You will get this one as soon as I have confirmation your money has cleared
  16. Welcome. Nice tank. Nothing safer than a bit of paranoia when it comes to stand bracing
  17. Your posters were posted via Boxlink this morning. Good luck! :bounce:
  18. Magazines were posted yesterday at about 3pm. Let's see who gets theirs first this time
  19. They may have been referring to the Chinese algae eater. Neither it nor the BNs are true cold water fish though can cope with temps down to 18C. That doesn't mean it is ideal for them though.
  20. YAY! Good luck to you. Ask Warren if he can visit your meeting and give a talk about the FNZAS Have you tried to get hold of that woman I told you about?
  21. Nowhere in Whangarei as yet but then, there is no local club member to ask at lfs if they are willing to give discount. Ask and ye may receive Gotta belong to the FNZAS first - not just registered with this site, you must be a member of an affiliated club.
  22. Yes I think so. You used to be able to. Chemist will have it if the supermarket doesn't.
