yes you read right, we have ronnie(Discusguru) back again giving a talk on DISCUS! DISCUS AND MORE DISCUS!because everyone loved his talk last time and everyone keeps asking for more so we have asked him to come again, so those who missed his talk last time DONT miss it this time as we all were sitting on the edge of our seats hanging onto every word he said.... Ronnie is very very passionate about discus and breeds some of the best discus in nz, his discus are the ones in pupuke aquariums main tank, so I look forward to seeing everyone then!!! so all are welcome its free for your first meeting. tuesday 1st aug 7.30pm sunnynook hall corner sunnynook rd and sycamore dr, i know ronnie would love to catch up with you as well

hi Jzer , this is a great site to learn from as you get info from people that have keeped fish before, not just read books about it. yes it is a shame you couldnt come last week as it was a great meeting but we will have more so you pop in and say hi as you could learn a thing or to and some times some members have 2nd hand stuff they want to sell... but always nice to make new friends

we i have to say tonight was GREAT!!!! ronnie had everyone sitting on the edge of there sets wanting to hear more! ronnie you are the ture Discus guru!! thanks so much for all the info you shared everyone came away wanting to set up discus tanks or add to there tanks. a big thanks your the best!! it was great to catch up with wok!! and it was even better to hear that you both want to help with the pet expo in feb, yes next year there will be a big fish display at the petexpo!!!! our club is working hard to make it a great show.

im so happy for you mate!!!! glad i sold you some good fish :lol: well trained :lol: looks like the dad has done a great job so just keep most of them with the dad and put some in a breeding trap (like the one i showed u) and feed feed feed and do water changes every day, only small ones but you need to keep the tank clean, when you get use to breeding them you do get slap happy but to start with play it safe, they are feeding shitting little fish cant wait to hear how they go!!!!

if you can get your hands on fluke tabs as brooklands have sold out, one of my friends could only get hold of a few packs before the shops sold out, so if you see it and keep discus grab some!!!!!

yep i think i know my way round a fish...... or two only have 5 tanks 2 are for my golden black eye b/n that i breed , i have a goldnugget in a tank by himself until i sell it, yes its for sale just have to get off my ass and do it , i need his tank for more babies. as caryl said im the president of the north shore club, so if you want to meet more fish mad people we do meet at lease once a month. we would love to meet new people cheers kim

by accident! he had them in his discus tank so ph would have been 6.5-6.8 temp 28 he feed them colour bits, bloodworms ,and flake. i feed them flake and bloodworms and sometimes they get live food. know alan i trust you and i also would love to see these lovely fish breed with,

they are the ones the steve my friend bred but he killed the babies by mistake. will have a look at them and see if you can sex them, i have never looked before, whats the difference from them dropping dead at my or your place when they die they die and thats life so i wouldnt want anything for them, in the case of there death haha

i have a breeding pair of Leopard Ctenopoma in one of my tanks but the babies wont come to anything apart from a good feed to the tiger and lung fish. if you want to breed from them alan im happy to lend you them

depends on the fish , mine has killed a few plecos and eaten a full growen pictis cat but is fine with the other fish in the tank.

they also become very friendly, i have one and she is lovely, but has eaten a few fish in her time, a few shops have sold them in auckland

i have one im thinking of selling, if you want to see it you can come over or i can drop it off at my old shop, pupuke aquarium and you can go and see if its what you want

have you seen the blue zebra danios? they are cool

i have the Glowlight danios in my tank, they are so nice!!

its a big box but i will have a look at what is in it next week as i have been run off my feet with my new job. im not going to conference sadly, i was looking at going but just cant get the time to do it, not enough hours in the day.

from the late Floris de Groot ! Floris' wife Denise gave me a few boxes of his stuff and in them is alot of stuff he used to breed his killies so i know he would want me to pass them on to the NZKA! I also have a box of books , i will have a look in the next week and the killie club can have all of them (the killie books) so if the club wants the stuff let me know as i know Floris would love to help new comers into his much loved hobbie.
