  1. Could it be Botia Modesta, common names 'Blue Botia', 'Orange Fin Loach', 'Red Tailed Botia'. Can't help with the compatibility issue, sorry Regards Robin
  2. I'll keep you in mind when I get it Alan, if no one else has sent it to you before then. Regards Robbie
  3. Not me Alan, although I do get it regularly from a magazine shop in Wgtn. Am thinking of taking out a sub and having it sent to my folks in the UK and then they can bring them out every time they come over. Robbie
  4. Phillz Had exactly the same problem with a turtle ramp in one of my spare tanks. I was fortunate enuf to have a spare scalpel and blade at home which I was able to slowly cut away at the silicone. After the ramp came away I then used a box knife blade just to scrape off any silicone left on the tank glass. Regards Robbie
  5. thanks for that Alan, I'll see how we go. Cheers Robbie
  6. Hi all, Have just got back from being in Auckland for a week and one of my Tiger Barbs has a problem. Sorry about quality of picture, but it looks as though it has been beaten up and chewed a bit. I've got it seperated into a tank by itself but wouldn't know the best course of treatment. I've only ever had to treat ich before. Help please Cheers Robbie http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v288/ ... C-023F.jpg
  7. Sorry Plecs, but unless someone else comes up with a solution wouldn't know what to suggest other than live food (fish). I also have a Borneo Tiger and it wont take anything except other fish (normally neons). I've tried frozen, worms, insects, mussels. I believe live food is the only way to go. Regards Robbie
  8. Thanks for that Mark, I shall give it a go when I get home tonite. Cheers Robbie
  9. Ok, so here's the thing, I have a Fire Eel and all I feed it at the moment are live earthworms, wont take any pellets, flakes, small feeder fish, etc. I've read somewhere that they'll go for mussels. So I'm in Woolworths tonite getting some groceries and I get 1/2 dozen green lipped mussels from the deli counter. Now I have no idea what to do with them. Do I boil them (wouldn't that take away the fact the eel will go after live food), do I put them in the tank as they are, eg, straight out the bag, also, how do I keep them fresh. I've just got them sitting in the sink at the moment in cold water. Hellllpppp please Cheers Robbie
  10. I have a 12inch fire eel who will only eat live earthworms. It is now getting to the point that I have nowhere else to dig in my garden to harvest earthworms. I have considered getting a worm farm but a comment has been passed to me that the type of worms used in these farms (tiger worms) have toxins in them that could be harmful to my fish and eel. Anyone have any comments/experiences TIA Robbie
  11. Hi there, Thought I'd say hello to everyone, I've been lurking in the background for a little while now and now thought it's time to put my hand up and say hi. I've been in this hobby now since February and at the weekend bought tanks number 7 & 8 ready for fry from my Blue Acaras that need growing on. See you all around. Robbie
