  7. well thought id do an update of this tank before i switch it all into a larger 4ft tank, on a sad note lost my female long finned bristenose tonight ( unknown causes, water is fine, tanks is clean, all fish healthy) i will post pics tomoro night if i get a chance as lights are out now, but i tried tonight , it is nearly impossible to get a decent pic of the harliquins, and the female cockatoos are photo bombers, but apart from this fish most the plants are doing OK, not amazing as my co2 system has a leak somewhere, i think it maybe the regulator (up, brand) anyone know where to get them tested , or have a suggestion why a full 7.5kg bottle was used over 3 weeked when it was on 4 bubbles a second? (also having trouble keeping it at 4 bubbles per second , it keeps speeding up? ) thanks in advance
  8. i have a garden shed insulated with 25mm poly, stays at 27, year round with 100watt heaters in each of the 14 tanks in there, and doesnt use that much extra power, probly 50-80 a month extra , maybe a bit more over winter

  16. exactly, im going to animates in manukau tomoro for a run through
  17. problem with doing that with whiptails is, as soon as they hatch they scatter for safetly and hided, also they suck onto things which makes it hard to get the without hurting them
  18. anyone want to come in and have a chat , just finished my water changes :dunno:
  19. when they are nearly ready to hatch i lower the water level then scrap them off with a razor blade, and put them into a cut down milk bottle with holes i poked around all the sides with a hot fork, then i feed spiralina ? powder from the chemist, i found this works the best as they are "lazy eaters" and need force feeding when young
  20. thats exactly right, haha there would be more decent ones around if we alll did that, sadly just a few will actually do that
