  1. You should give BB a go - it's up there with The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire, IMHO The showrunner's plan was always to take Walter White from high school chemistry teacher to meth baron - quite an arc for a character. I think it's around season 2 where most people realise Walter's no longer the good guy. It gets darker and nastier as it goes :bounce:
  2. 2% vs 1.5% for Excel, Alan "AIDAL PLUS contains a corrosion inhibitor" Bugger, probably
  3. fish2water, on this forum sells Poret foam. Not sure if that's the sort of stuff you're after?
  4. That's the only one I've found so far, too. I'm wondering what the buffering agent is? It's probably harmless, but I'd like to know before I buy some. https://online.ebos.co.nz/default.cfm?a ... e=25135186 They say it's stable for a year, too :bounce: https://online.ebos.co.nz/images/produc ... 20Plus.pdf
  5. I wouldn't gargle with it :slfg: From what I've been reading, you can become sensitive to it from repeated exposure. So to be on the safe side I keep it away from my skin, watch out for splashes getting in my eyes and wash my hands immediately if it does contact them. You can nuke your bio-filter if you go over the top dosing Excel, but we're talking 5 X recommended dose type levels. My twisted val melted when I first started using it, but it's come away again and is growing like crazy now. It's not thought to be carcinogenic, but it is toxic and an irritant. http://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/ntp/htdocs/LT_rpts/tr490.pdf
  6. I'll post here when I find out
  7. I guess you wont be using Flourish Excel anytime soon then. I've always been aware of the dangers of using Excel, and I never let it contact my skin. :smln: http://www.seachem.com/support/MSDS/FlourishExcel.doc.pdf
  8. Does anyone know where to purchase glutaraldehyde in NZ? It's the active component in Flourish Excel, and apparently you can get it a lot cheaper than what you pay for the Seachem stuff.
  9. Very cool, can you get some video? :dnc1:
  10. Can fish get hydroencephalitis? :slfg:
  11. You missed part of the link :slfg: The whole thing is http://www.tbas1.com/Exchange/The%20New%20England%2011.pdf
  12. What are your nitrate and phosphate readings?
  13. UV sterilisers apparently clear green water pretty quickly? I've never used one, but I've read plenty of reports that they work well.

Yeah, I wish you could rent them. ~$260 for that one on Ebay. Bit pricy for something you'll only use during initial setup I wonder if lighting specialists would take a reading for a small fee?
  15. I disagree, Adrienne. I've had good results recovering from a massive BGA outbreak (was overseas for two weeks and tank balance got out of whack) using a 3 day blackout. :dunno: Long term, you'll still have to address the root cause or it'll return eventually.
  16. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Waterproof-T5HO ... 256d221d41 I've got 10 of them left if you want 'em - $1 each plus shipping. Not sure if they are suitable for your set-up?
  17. I assume he means T5HO, in which case it's worth doing. Check the chart on page 15 of this PDF http://www.aeeohio.com/AEE_Cleveland_FL ... 222005.pdf I converted from T8 to T5HO by buying the end caps on EBay and new ballasts from Ideal Electrical.
  18. World of Pets in Kaimiro St, Pukete, carry Sera products - maybe give them a call?
  19. Looks a bit shopped to me - the guy's arm looks sucpiciously pink, especially the light/dark transition on his left arm :dunno:
  20. Wow, very nice Since you've been getting help from Tom and co, you might be able to answer this question. With EI, they say that plants outcompete algae for resources, but what resources are they referring to? Since we're supplying nitrate, phosphate, carbon and traces in excess, what's left for plants to use before the algae get to it?
  21. What are you playing them on? My Cowon J3 has a setting to turn off the gap between songs, or even cross-fade them.
