  1. Tragedy! Smashed my inflow lily pipe to pieces  I'm so disappointed as I was being extra careful. One moment of carelessness and juggling act.... AAAARRRRRRRR! On the bright side I was worried they were one size to small so I have just ordered a set of 13mm. I'm still fiddling about drilling holes in the cabinet and mounting a multi-plug etc. Also need to work on keeping my sodastream bottle upright.
  2. Sweet! \ 30 neons! They might stand out better with all the colour in your tank...
  3. Small update 9 moss stones made up, keeping them in shallow tray with lights on for 8 hours per day 'til I've sourced all the plants. Picking up a cabinet tomorrow which will need some extra bracing added and some holes drilled. Also waiting for an adaptor to arrive from Aus, there has been a delay on that so it may not get delivered until next week All going well I should be able to fill the tank up this weekend to test for leaks So close now... :bounce:
  4. I used to sell handfuls of Riccia in London, my local LFS rarely had it. Paid for a few pints
  5. What happens to all your cuttings?
  6. Xmas moss - attached to stones Glosso Hairgrass Dwarf sag That scribble on the right might be Anubias barteri or a crypt :-? How often do planting plans actually work
  7. Some Otto's and a bunch of glowlight or ember Tetra's. Not decided yet...
  8. Boredom Trying to get an idea what the sand foreground will look like....
  9. Here is a good setup article http://www.littlegreencorner.com/setuptips_co2.html
  10. I could be wrong but I was led to beleive there is different grades to Co2 purity. I'm not sure if it makes any difference in an aquarium though :-?
  11. The hardest part setting up Co2 for me has been deciding on the bottle and refills and finding clear hosing suitable for the pressures. :-? There is a company called Airliquide who might be able to fill your 10kg.
  12. I haven't set mine up yet, still waiting for the adaptor to arrive. If you can find a good supplier to fill your Co2 bottle go for the big one. I'm stuck with the sodastream for now but if it becomes a hassle refilling all the time I'll look for a bigger bottle. Also, not sure if it makes a difference but I know the Co2 in a sodastream is food grade Co2 so is cleaner than say Co2 used in a FE. I may be wrong on this though.....
  13. That's similar to the one I ordered. If you decide to use sodastream I can send you the link to the adaptor.
  14. To fit my reg to a sodastream bottle I had to order an adaptor, but I don't think sodastream is a standard fitting anyway. What type of bottle are you using?
  15. I will PM you the link for the regulator I bought. You can get your check valve, bubble counter and Co2 test kit from the same site
  16. I understand what you mean, I like them both. I didn't really want to follow either of these styles to the letter on this tank. If it turns out looking like a pile of weeds I think I will go Iwagumi. Could bring some driftwood in also......
  17. Sodastream bottle doesn't fit my regulator so adaptor shopping now. Purchased a cabinet which is nice but is 90cm so will have some space on the sides. I may build a cabinet in the future but this will do until then. A few bits of plumbing to get so my hose fits my lily pipes and some Co2 hose will have me sorted. I've decided against planting this with just glosso, a few plants I have in mind: - Vesicularia montagnei - Glossostigma elatinoides - dwarf sagittaria - Eleocharis - Lobelia cardinalis (I've never had this before) - Microsorum pteropus Narrow - Bolbitis heudelotii I would like to add something red... crypt maybe The next part is sourcing these plants so if anyone has any for sale.....
  18. I was just checking those out  Those DIY cabinets look really good and I have a few builder mates that could help me but would probably drink beer and end up building a bar instead
  19. I got them from fishstreet. Probably could have found cheaper but I liked the regulator and could save on the postage altogether. I'm going to play around with the pipes and diffuser so I can maximize the distibution of Co2 It's going to be a bit of trial and error I guess. Going shopping for the Co2 bottle tomorrow night and have a look in some furniture stores for a potential cabinet I can adapt. Plumbing this weekend, then plant shopping. :bounce:
  20. That's not the final positioning of the glassware just wanted to get it all in the photo... I agree the checker can be move to the other side. Not to sure about the pipes . I'll give them a go and replace if necessary, The quality is not the greatest but good for the price I guess.
  21. Here is all the glassware in the tank, will need to replace the black cap on the dropchecker and I'm trying to find some clear Co2 hose. Really happy with how it all looks in the tank, although I may have gone a size to small on the lily pipes and diffuser.
  22. The fitting on this regulator may fit straight to a sodastream bottle. Also received a a dropchecker...
  23. Delivery today! :bounce: Lily pipes (hope they're big enough) Bubble counter Check valve
