at Western Springs there are some sort of trout, goldfish and probably other fish I can't remember and they get pooped on by great flocks of ducks, geese, swan etc.

:sml2: I didn't mean to blow my own horn at all, it has taken literally weekends and weekends of doing a bit here and there as each new technique got bedded into my brain. It was made easier by being a collarless shirt, the last one I tried to make him had an open neck like a hawaiian shirt and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth before I finally gave up. My husband had just about given up on this one ever being finished and had more than once told me he wasn't going to ask me to make him anything again :nilly: I am once again in the good books though now it's nearly done well you should if you can make a bit of money, and of course the shipping is free, they can fly themselves up here :facepalm:

I have nearly finished making a shirt for my husband... it has been a long learning process but soon I will put my new sewing machine to the test for the final stage: The Buttonholes :cofn:

he did a funny thing earlier. After I'd changed some of the water he swam up to the top of the tank, then went behind the heater and settled along the suction cup for a few mins. Like a snake laying along a branch. what a funny little fish. He has till 330pm and then he can go back to the group where hopefully he will be tempted to eat something.

I have found out that I have given rather a heavy dose, (got infor from another thread) so will change some of the water out now and see if any change. So far he just sits on the bottom and shifts about awkwardly from time to time. I have tried to tempt him with a freshly crushed snail (favourite food), he's aware of it but doesn't eat.

I think it will be fine, it will be like giving the fish a big water change. If you transfer as much of the existing water, all the substrate and filter and top up with new water it should be good. I am about to do the same to enlarge my loach tank in a couple of weeks.

And I have a roast beef cooking in the oven with kumara, parsnip, yam, garlic and some oregano under the beef. The skin has crisped up to what would get a minus-heart tick if there is such a thing, but I will chomp on it anyway because I am an evil fat lover. !drool: Oh and I went to Bird Barn today for a looksee - fish selection is OK, good prices on fishy goods, cheapest and best range next to HFF. I saw some of Joe's floofies cousins and some very sweet little finches that I liked. Lots of very brightly coloured birds, some that say hello and some with a blood curdling screech, the staff must go home with their ears ringing.

So today's update is Mr Skinny is now 'in hospital' with some aviverm/levamisole for company. I had noticed that the other skinny loach has improved in fatness over the last week or so but Mr Skinny seems to have gotten thinner over the last few days, also today has been very listless on the bottom, moving about in what looks like uncomfortable to him. So fingers crossed I have used the right medication and he gets better. if anyone wants to know I am using a quarter of a mL in 25 litres of water as per instructions I found on here earlier.
