  1. Can you return it? Say you bought it as a gift but the person already got one...
  2. A Jebo 819 which filters 1200L/h won't be good on a 750L tank? Really?

    Furan-2

I think pretty much everything gives humans tumours these days too

Yeah, I'm sure they overdosed the mice. And just because it does that in mice doesn't mean it'll do it in humans. Better safe them sorry though, its not any harder to deal with it with gloves on than without...

Here are a few articles that you could look up. Let me know if u don't have access to it through uni and I can email you the pdf. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15488632 http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=1527305 http://grande.nal.usda.gov/ibids/index. ... row=374167

I was just wondering if u could elaborate on the JBL micronutrient. What is it? What are its benefits? Do u buy it from the petstore? I'm kinda new to this fertilizing thing because i've never tried to grow many diff kinds of plants before....just the easy ones that didn't need anything.
  7. Quick! Someone loot her tank of the bubs while she's gone! She'll never know the diff! JK  Safe travels!!!

Its the Nitrofurazone...warns so right on the back of the package. Shown to produce mammary tumors on rats and ovarian tumors on mice. I haven't had the time to look these studies up in journals so I'm just going to believe them. Don't let it touch your skin and don't breath it in. If you have a bubbler going, put a lid on the tank.
  9. They'll grow back if he's healthy.

Plus you won't risk staining anything. Furan-2 also contains carcinogens. Its better to just have it set up in a hospital tank where you can wear gloves and clean the equipment properly after treatment. You don't want that stuff lingering in your normal setup and risk exposing yourself unknowingly.
  11. Maybe a Jebo 819? I've heard they are good.
  12. What about the heat pad ordering?
  13. Yeah, see I like angels..but I just dislike their personalities I think I might stick to other fish for now, i don't want any drama. Thanks for the input!
  14. Here is an entertaining story of how MTS can hit you. Fish enthusiasts beware! http://www.aquaria.info/index.php?name= ... me=Printer
  15. Do you think 2-4 angels would get along with a small group glass catfish? How about with male guppies? I know they can pick on smaller fish. Its been ages since I had any (like 9 years old) and I was thinking of adding them into a 220 community tank. Most sites consider them ambush predators so they would be unsafe with small fish but I know angels tend to have diff personalities as well. I am unsure of the exact size of them at the moment, but I realize smaller would be better. What are your experiences with having them in a community tank (especially with smaller fish)? If you add them when they are small, can they grow up to be fairly peaceful? Cheers!
  16. I don't think the shipping would be that much. My bf got quoted $100 for shipping a bass with case. Depends on the seller's resources I guess. Don't forget about the exchange rate! This is a good site to find up to date rates: xe.com
  17. No one transfers money across from bank account to bank account over there like they do here....I mean Canada/US do use wire transfers and automatic payments but not on Ebay. You would just pay by credit card or Paypal.
  18. Damn economy of scale! I curse it everytime I go out and buy mascara! I miss Canada sometimes Canada/US is only 120V which is basically half of what NZ uses and their plugs are not slanted. I successfully use some of my electonics with just a plug converter as they are within the range of 100-240V...laptop, battery charger, curling iron, etc... I imagine an Aquaclear filter would be ok (you can check if it has that range online), I used to have one in Canada but I don't remember what the powerhead said. Anything that is not within range, you can use a power converter...although at this point, I don't know whether its worth the hassle. The only thing I've had a problem with is clocks not working because of the difference in Hz. Even though its says it can do 50-60 HZ, the time ticks by quicker! I think that if u hunt on Ebay.com and Ebay.ca, you will come across a seller who can do shipping reasonably and will send here.

    I have discovered...

Poor Canada Maybe its native american for something?
  20. I recommend Webshots.com
  21. I'm no plant expert, but I've heard of some terrestrial plants turning yellow because of either a Nitrogen or Iron deficiency. Iron apparently is harder to uptake by plants when the water is really alkaline.
  22. I don't think its from lighting. I barely have any decent lights in my tank yet all the adults are fine, the babies are all born normal, and the fry are growing normal. I don't know what the problem is for sure but i always thought in the past that it happened when guppies would overbreed/inbreed to much. It only takes one set of bad genes to start ruining the group.
  23. Welcome! You tanks sound great PICS!!!!!
  24. They got along just fine when I kept them together but I don't know about other species. They are not aggressive so I guess it'd depend on the other fish's attitudes! They are quite small...
  25. There is no skill involved with these fish! They are simultaneous hermaphrodites so they just drop eggs...you don't have to do anything You don't even have to have more then 1 fish!
