  1. Might just have to sell everything for an 8ft tank :nilly:
  2. Tie the moss down in a thin layer to wood or rocks using thread. With hairgrass it's best to split it up as much as possible but bunches of about 12-20 blades should be sufficient. HTH.
  3. Hey guys. What options do we have in NZ for small-med predatory fish? The largest tank I have room for is a 120x40x40 but prefer something around 100x30-40(D)x30(H), not looking to upgrade in the future either. All I can think of is a Pantadon Butterfly. I just want a fish I can feed stuff to really  Thanks!
  4. That sucks Steph! I'm down to two fighters myself, one isn't look great and the other has whitespot. I have no idea what happened as I had seven perfectly healthy fish just a month ago. But don't give up, we all have moments like this. I just step back and focus on something else for a while. Best of luck.
  5. Wow Trilio, that vid is awesome! 5pm TV One today, Our World: River Monsters
  6. Woah! That amano looks like a grasshopper
  7. Does the second to last fish in the previous lot of pictures not have a deformed head/mouth? Or is it just the camera angle?
  8. They really needed to count the "man hours" on that video too. Several hundred men working over two days is probably equal to a dozen or so guys working over a year.
  9. It depends to what extremity the genetic deformity exist. I for one cannot stand doubletails  Shiny blue is in fact a genetic mutation, purists would call it a deformity
  10. I love the rosetails :nilly:
  11. Amazing how Asia gets stuff done so quickly and efficiently!
  12. Ah Louie (that how you spell it?) Little rascal.
  13. So that takes it up to 12 peppered cories :happy1:
  14. Thanks to Josh for dropping off some more peppered cories tonight!
  15. I use 2cups of raw sugar, about 1/2 TBSP of yeast and up to the curve in a 3L juic bottle of very warm/hot water. Shake it up and wait for it to cool down before attaching to the diffuser. HTH.
  16. That's a solid pairing Adrienne!
  17. I personally quite like the "rose tails" 8)
  18. !drool: When can I come over?

    New tank

No worries mate! It looks really good Make sure you keep that riccia nice and short or else it rots underneath
  20. Bunnings and Mitre10 Mega likely stock these bulbs actually.
  21. I find that if males and females are kept within view of each other for long periods of time, they lose interest in breeding.
  22. I spawned mine in a 60x30 without any problems. Keep the males and females separate for a month, feeding them on good live foods such as bloodworms. Then introduce the pair to the spawning tank, the water in the spawning tank should be warmer than usual, around 28-30 is good. Usually the male will make a nest and they will spawn when you let the female out. HTH.
