I have two Kribs in a 3ft tank, they may outgrow that. You may be able to get a Ram but I'd say a Fighter or some Tetra's would be better. Vouchers are good, easy to ship. Depends how far the winner(s) is/are away from your shop though.

I paid for Budgie and shipping last night, when do you think the payment will show up? I'm hoping before tomorrow afternoon because that's when the bird's supposed to be shipped. Finger crossed

As long as it's not Teflon! :lol: The sites I was reading sounded super paranoid about it, like it was Avian Flu or something. Guess it's not THAT bad now.

We have an extractor fan? over the stove top. We cook with gas so I wouldn't have Bird on my shoulder. I'm pretty sure Bird already has it's wings clipped and we have lots of windows, almost as many as walls. Hopefully Budgies are smart...

Where do ya'll order plants from? My LPS's have a really poor variety of un-ID'd plants.

I'd say start up a tank with heaps of thick plants like Polysperma etc. Let that grow wild and then the guppies would have a better chance of survival. Not so good if you want to breed selectively but if I get another tank, I was going to do a wild type guppy project. Feral Guppies would look wicked :lol:

We can't win! Keeping the windows shut lets the fumes build up. But if you leave the windows open then the bird escapes I guess I won't be cooking with Teflon with Bird, I always seem to burn stuff.

I just read that the PTFE in non-stick cookware can kill birds! Aparently, when non-stick cookware (pans, etc) is heated, it gives of toxic fumes which kill birds! http://www.starlingtalk.com/warning.htm I'm getting a budgie soon and I do love to cook. Is this (toxic teflon) true?

Grave being Gravel? It's just coarse sand from Mitre10 mega. The plants are not from the stream, I got them from the fish shop and TM. Look nice? Yes.

Pics are taken today, fry were born 29th July '09. Making them 18 days old. They are spoilt little pigs, well, the brighter three are. The more pale and slightly smaller ones hang near the bottom and aren't as keen for food

Personally, I believe that my tanks are dangerously understocked :lol: I have never been a big fan of having heaps of fish and 3 out of my 5 running tanks only have one fish in them, the 80L even has none!

Good thinking Stella. I always pour my old water onto the gardens unless it's hospital tank water. I just left the plants I took out on the lawn and they got all shrivelled so I biffed them in the compost.

A pic would definately help, or at least a list of what you're stocking and what size tank it is. The filter size and frequency of water changes would help too.

I only do custom tanks, none of this kit stuff so count me out. Wouldn't be fair if I entered anyways :lol:

Not good. The rot has spread down to his body. He's acting normal and still eating but he's getting worse. I'm thinking it's time to put him out of it. I used to use the rapid emersion in boiling water technique and this killed the fish instantly but I've read that it's not okay. Can I add drops of alcohol until the fish dies or is there a better method? I don't have any clove oil.
