  1. I am SO making a Paludarium now. I'm thinking of making the land area out of just rocks and gravel/sand in between for the plants to grow in. Probably need to make one of those neat ploystyrene backgrounds too, or could I make the whole thing out of poly? *So many ideas are zooming around my head*
  2. What if I don't have any reptiles on the land part? Then could I crank up the light? Because I can't see any species we get here being small enough :-? .
  3. Getting a 350x300x300mm tank made soon (as soon as my dang acrylic arrives) and wanted to make it into a Paludarium or Riparium. So... What's the best way to create the land part of it while still allowing decent water flow around the roots of land plants? Is a paludarium any better for the health of Betta's/Anabantoids than an aquarium? What are the best plants to use in a paludarium of this size? Anything else I need to know about paludariums? Mods, please move this if another area would be more appropriate. Thanks
  4. Cool, I'd like to see how it turns out. I've heard that it is VERY fine and rather light. I'd like it in black if I could get it or even dye some of the regular stuff.
  5. I don't think it's the shipping that costs heaps, it'll be the Fluorite itself. Top quality stuff cost alot of money.
  6. Define Junior please. I'm sure that the majority of people on here are really just little kids in big people's clothes.
  7. Wow, that is incredible. Couldn't you have just fished him out with a net or stick? Kinda flicked him back up?
  8. It's available at HFF, they ship also. Where abouts/which sections of their shop? Thanks
  9. Here perhaps? http://www.aquarium.net.nz/cart_search. ... rch=cf1200

Any chance of you sending me some Dreams? I'll pay...
  11. Sorry to hear that. I'm sure if they spawned this easily then they'll be willing to do it again soon. Maybe setup another tank if you're keen?
  12. Anabantoids should be able to survive for ages if kept warm and moist. We had some golden bell frogs that hatched from tadpoles. "We" left the lid open and could only count two. We looked around for the third but couldn't find it. Turned out he had hopped out of the tank and across the carpet. I was so sad when I saw the dried little frog but mum decided to plop it in a little lid of water. To our surprise, it came "back to life". Amazing. :bounce:
  13. Interesting. I'm guessing they'd only be dropping the common plecs in there? I read in a Nat Geo article that they use mosquito fish to eat, you guessed it, mosquitos in stagnant pools.
  14. Yay! Sounds like you have eggs. Evacuate ALL occupants and leave him to his own devices, get fry food ASAP (or as soon as you see wrigglers). Good luck!
  15. Might be a bidding war soon?
  16. Welcome. Betta breeding ain't easy and usually isn't successful. It can be fun to watch them but be warned that they will fight, even if they aren't two males so be ready to seperate them at any time. Good luck.
  17. See it now? Amazing what a bit of rotation and a few lines can do.
  18. Roflmao   It'll prolly get pulled soon
  19. Congratulations :bounce: :bounce:
  20. Better not have sent me one Twinkles

    Tetra Tank

Better to have large schools of one fish than small amounts of different fish when it comes to tetras. There are many different types of tetra so please outline the types you are thinking of. 32 Litres could hold the Gourami and about 10 Neons to be safe. Good luck
