I thought they were around $35-$40 a pair :-? Seeing as they need to be in a school of 6 or more, 10 would be better that'd be $105-$120 (6) or $175-$200 (10).
That's pretty expensive to me.

I'd like to split a tank into three and breed a strain selectively. Males on the right, females on the left and unsexable fry in the middle. *Tilts head upwards and starts to dream*

They're quite expensive. Grow to 10cm long and need to be in groups of 6 or more, single fish don't live long. Big tank with lots of plants to rest on. Definately not a newbie fish.

Waste issue? I've had snails almost since I started and they've been no problem. You'll get them anyways if you have plants.

Welcome to the forums.
Yes, it would be nice to have I.D'd plants locally. Otherwise, great selection of fish products.

how do you get around the Manukau chlorinated water? do you let it sit overnight?
I let it sit for an hour. Does the trick.
I do add PMDD to my tanks sometimes but that's the only chemical.

Can we get Dragons over here? They look super wicked! (the above pic that Twinkles gave)
This one is awesome too: http://www.ultimatebettas.com/index.php ... 41098&st=0

Never touched any algae chemicals, I don't even use water conditioner. The only method I've used is cutting the lights and blacking out the tank. No light what so ever for several days, just remember to remove the CO2 line so your fish don't suffocate.

Why is this in Anabantoids? Maybe the mods could move it to General Breeding?
Just look through some threads Sherbet, there's been quite a few on breeding WCMM recently.

I reckon half suns look neat as!
Too bad we don't have a bigger variety of fighters over here.
-
My fighter was feed on a diet of pellets but I didn't have any. He didn't eat for a day or two but soon came around and ate flakes. If they get hungry, then they'll eat.

And their's roundtail, halfsun, full moon, combtail, the list goes on.

Ammonia test is getting low, need to buy another kit soon. Was at 1ppm this morning so dosed another 5mls as it took ages to fall last time. This is how I'd like to run the CO2, all off a little shelf above the tanks. I'm going run regular DIY CO2 in a 3L juice bottle with one line to a purifier, from there to a gang valve with 1/3 going into the 35cm and 2/3 into the 3 footer H.O.B. May adjust over time or to suit my needs, probably won't turn off over night though.
How should I attach the shelf to the wall?
Does anyone see any problems?
Thanks

Welcome! I like fighters too.

PK= Plakat (Short finned)
You can combine the above with each other. For example, a fish with short fins with crowning can be a CTPK.
There's also double tail but I don't know what the abreviation is for that.

Are you going for the Iwagumi concpet?
Is that hairgrass at the front?

There's tubes of 100% silicone at the 1 2 3 Dollar shop. Is that okay? It's only $3.00

Did you wet the suction cups and are the under water? You can pick up some cheap ones from dollar stores and modify them for your use.
BTW, You can make "Battering Rocks my world your signature so you don't have to write it every time. Just go to the top right corner, click on User Control Panel>Edit profile>Edit signature.

I put him in another smaller container and biffed his 1 day old water, it was a yellowy colour and had bits of fin in it . Replaced the water in his container and he seems fine. Going to add some more rocksalt now.

I'd stock it lightly, if at all. A Betta would look nice and be happy. Not sure about the cichlids though. Maybe cardinals?
-
Is that before or after?

54L (60x30x30). If it is the tank described to the left, I have the exact same size. I'm running a 100w aquaone heater, because my house can get quite cold.

Is it unopened? If so, try list it on TM

Awesome!
There's quite a bit of old polystyrene blocks up the road in the in-organic rubbish. They're over 50mm thick. Worth getting some for a background?
