  1. A fish store isn't particularly suitable and going to Kelly Tarltons 4-12 times a year would cost a fortune. There's nothing wrong with meeting at someone's house or any public place with seats really.

Any flex Cam? Compare the depth front to back at a braced end and where the braces cracked.
  3. At the moment it looks like it's just sitting on top of the rockwork. I'd turn it 90° clockwise and nestle it amongst the rocks a bit more.
  4. :iag: Any chance of a full tank shot from the front?
  5. Cause exchanging cash for cake in the backseat of a car in a fastfood carpark won't attract police attention You're right though Geoff, no matter where we decide it will be a great distance but until we get enough members to a. Rent a bus or b. Divide the AFA into N, S, E, W and Central factions, I think we'll have to come to a fair comprimise or meet via Skype.
  6. It has to work for everyone Auckland wide. If anyone down South can get to The Gardens, I've got 4 spare seats in my car.
  7. Queen St is fairly central but Mangare is near your place. Lincoln Rd is probably a bit too far West and so is Avondale. Do we need to vote on this too?
  8. I don't mind where it's held but don't know when I'll next be working yet. Hopefully we can get some more members there this time!
  9. Yes you can! Not a bad idea actually
  10. I think we have a slogan: AFA; "we did have fresh cake"
  11. Hey! We're getting there, good things take time
  12. It will go mouldy/rot/look gross before it harms fish giving you plenty of time to take it out. The only way to really know is to try it out.
  13. Flourite has worked well for me in the past, the grain size is a bit large for my liking though. For ease of use, I'd go Fluorite but personally I prefer 2-3mm grit with aquabasis below.

  15. 10L + a couple of '00' = 100,000L

It's concentrated for the pumps I'm using, each pump is 2.5ml so I mixed it so that each pump provides enough for 25L making dosing 50, 100 and 200L tanks a breeze. Other than that it's just the basic EI mix for planted high tech tanks, nothing special.

Depends how many tanks I'm dosing. I've made up a 2500ml solution of each, dosed 20ml thrice weekly on a 200L tank it should last just over 40 weeks. Add in my smaller tanks and I've probably got half a year of dosing from that batch with plenty of ferts left over

Yeah I did, split 1kg bags with Liam so 500gm of the basics only cost $33 incl shipping IIRC. Surely when you add shipping from overseas it would add up?

Good to hear dude, hope they're all good! Today I went to Mitre10, bought several multiboards and 3 timers for my fish shelf project. Due to my lack of building skills and Mum's preference for nice looking units, I bought a rack instead of building one  Also went to Storage Box and got 3 buckets for my dry ferts, a couple of 5L jerrycans for bulk mixing and a couple of pumps. Successful outing, now I just have to decide which I'm going to work on first :dunno:
  21. Looks a little foggy Nah superb as always man, can't wait for you to do a longer scape.
  22. I've never had a problem with reflection on any of my backgrounds, maybe I apply them really well?? :dunno:
