  1. It's hard to tell with those photos but I'd say yes. Ugly things
  2. Agreed! So use the above impliment to deal with it. I mean the algae of course
  3. No one's denying that Caryl
  4. Don't rely on the fish to clean it, the older they get the less algae they eat. Clean the glass with a brush or cloth that won't scratch, then perform a decent water change to clear it up.
  5. Burger Fuel have consistently been the best IME 8)
  6. I've just uploaded some photos from Kelly Tarltons last weekend, check them out here on Facebook. Feel free to email me any you have taken and I'll upload them too.

Because they're limited to the size of the tank, I suppose you could put some fast growers in there and keep cutting them back. Out of water plants tend to grow faster but I guess they'd both be fine

I doubt aquatic plants would do much but you could hang the roots of some terrestrial or marginal plants in the tank, something edible would be choice
  9. IME it just takes time, the best thing you can do is keep the plants as algae-free as possible so they stay alive and healthy.
  10. In regards to the brown algae, I believe that to be new tank syndrome. I have it BADLY in my 4ft Iwagumi with a combination of new substrate releasing excess silica into the water and the plant mass getting established. Currently I'm keeping up with water changes every two days using the siphon to suck any loose algae out.
  11. They might be but they're expensive. Why not go for something like the big band tiger pleco? They're something a bit different, usually more active and affordable! In regards to the schooling fish, just stick to one species. Your tank is quite red at the moment however that will probably turn more green over time, pick fish that contrast nicely with your aquarium (don't pick orange fish).
  12. Just remember that limited species in large quantities have a greater impact than many species in lesser quantity. Whatever you're thinking, make sure you double check with us here before you buy
  13. The Val will be melting from the change. What I usually do is cut off the dying leaves and wait for fresh growth to come through.
  14. Planning on having a big restructure resulting in an additional 3 60x30x30cm aquariums. Tonight I cut back a lot of the moss so the rockwork is now visible, minnows are being moved to my 4ft when that settles so this could be the final photo. All in all, it's been fun but the rockwork just wasn't strong enough.
  15. Yup I'm still keen, working on a logo now even
  16. The seller is displaying a very ignorant and irresponsible attitude toward the welfare of the fish, thankfully someone has bid on them!
  17. Is the theoretical system closed? Nothing in or out except the fish?
