  1. Are these readily available p44?
  2. If you feel so it only seems common sense you speak to those who may have the answer, more so the up-close experience's. So tell me what you think this fish is? If it is not as i have a stated as you have seemingly implied in this comment
  3. Mate i neglect to see in any of your post a shrap of fact, if you would like to talk loricariidae with me please join me on a Loricariidae dedicated site and see how quickly an empty comment such as that will go. www.plecoplanet.com
  4. Just cross refference your fish "Rio Ucayali" with L148, as the 2 are extremely easy to confuse the picture P44 has is of Rio Ucayali. Oh and another often confused just to add to the confusion is Ancistrus leucostictus. HTH
  5. This link may help Skippy. http://www.plecoplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3480
  6. lol if its only a pair i would remove a cave or 3, my water was a 5.5-6 but TDS proves more nesecery with a reading of 100ppm.
  7. Have not bred them in NZ but have bred them, had a bit of trouble with the first few batchs of fry due to dad's neglect but reasonably straight forward.
  8. L104 is not gone entirely it is just no longer considered P. Maccus, L104 is to be considered as the so called common Bristlenose a mix where the original catch locations where never recorded and species looking so similar where bred for tthe aquarium trade. Im not sure what the original "Pretty pekoltia" was but i would imagin it to be the same as what oz call's "clown pleco" L168, L52, L104, & P. Maccus.
  9. I was answering adodges question on the tails not stating why they are not L66, even though the tail still does not resemble that of L66. This is a picture of L66 http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/image.php?species=hypancistrus+sp(l066)&image_id=2158 note the dorsal, caudle and adipose fins let alone the body shape altogether.
  10. L66 are liar tailed http://img513.imageshack.us/i/l66so0.jpg/ L270 tails are like this (pic is of a l333) http://www.aquascapeonline.com/ProdImages/Fish_Plecos/L-333%20King%20Tiger_2.jpg
  11. Who id'd those as being L270? http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=232 That pretty pekoltia that is beleived to be P. Maccus is more likely L104 a hybrid species or just like the common bristlenose a mix, that where bred and supposed to be of the same species. The 2nd last pic shows no L66 even though the image is hard to make out, all the plecs labeled L270 look more like Hypancistrus Furunculus. http://www.aquariaveldhuis.nl/domeinen/aquariaveldhuis/www/products_pictures/thumbnail/HYPANCISTRUS%20FURUNCULUS%20L199.jpg
  12. L270 is a Hypancistrus, the plec is a panaque without doubt.
  13. I can guarantee that is not an L66, it is possibly L226 ,L002, P. Maccus. http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=735 My L002 lose all colour in the face during times of stress, 226 would be my assumption if thats what it was sold to you as.
  14. First one P. Maccus possibly L002 2nd common bn (these vary hugely) 3rd requires a better pic.
