    Lighting

    I use a single tube light on both my 3 foot tank and on my 500x400x550 I have no probs with low light, all my plants grow fine, I too think a double tube light is overkill, but obviuosly the deeper the tank then the stronger the light needs to be. B
  7. Kyle, Have a chat to chris downs here in wellington, he is on here as christopher. I have just recently aquirred 6 juveniles off of him. Chris did say tho that they are quite slow growing Hope this Helps B

  9. I use beach sand and have no problems with greeblies and chemicals, but I wash it thoroughly and let it soak in a bucket for 2-3 weeks first it is too dark tho for what you are after is it not shae B

  12. The dowel as suggested by Ira and Jude would be the best way as it will give you a join that will be basically invisible. If you use the nylon you will be able to attach plants to the wood if you wish. just remember to get the right plants I.e Anubias, Java Fern etc
  13. I wouldn't put anything else in there, you will be fairly close to maximum capacity already if not over it

  15. so it would be a caude of inbreeding then alan, and not a good speciment to breed from. As he is the dominant male at the moment.

    Blue fish

    dwarf neon rainbows come in a blue with nice red fins, quite pretty really.
  17. Also can anyone tell me if the curve of the dorsal fin on the angel in the first two pics is normal, Like I aid this is my first lot of angels and am still learning. Cheers B P.s nice colouration in those angels Fins.

  22. Just thought I would see how many people have angels and what colours are out there. I have two males and a female so if anyone oput there needs a male I am looking for a female similar in colour. Am quite interersted in this as I have just aquired my first three angels and here are some pics: Cheers B
  23. Back on topic here are some of the new plattie I bought, to introduce new lines. The new platties consit of a male and female that are blue with orange tails, and two females one blue with black tail and fins and the other yellow at the face fading through to black at the tail.
