  1. A slow but tediuos way is to crush the adults and let your fish feed on them, but as said in many other forums, you can place a rock or flast peice of driftwood in your tank and then the snails will congregate under tis and then you remove it wash it off outside and place it back in the tank for the next lot.
  2. As I said in the livebearer column under " Guppy Society", a job well done cees, now to sit back and see who's interested. I will put my name forward to be a committe member when the time comes to assign one, as long as people have no problem with that. B
  3. Very nice cees, a job well done, only if i had hit the confirm rego in the email in stead of cancel   lol B
  4. why might you be leaving fish shae????????
  5. do you have a pic of the wisteria ira or a link to a pic cheers B
  6. condition wise as above, as for colours they are a mixed bag, with blue, yellow, red and green being the main colours. They are in a tank on thier own at the moment "quarintined" but may use a couple of your females and see what colours I can get, would like to get some yellow dominant guppies. B

    Good link

Thqnks for that bill it would be good if we could get the link section updated and get someone to mintain it. B
  8. hey Newt, i have some crypt growing out in my tanks at the moment, and I have a few small bunches. When they get a bit bigger you are more than welcome to some and I also will hopefully have some platties for your dad. so we can swap or something. I also have aquirred some guppies today from a guy who is getting out of them, they are in a bad way at the moment, but give them a couple of weeks and they will be primo, so if you want some fish for colour let me knw. hello to all

Welcome Newtman/Tim, I have met you briefly at the August?? kapi Mana Club meeting, and can't make it tinite but will be joining. Good to see you made it here to us finally. Ballistic/Steve
  15. when you say registeer cees is that with the fnzas or elsewhere, and would we need a bank account or would the fees be able to be paid through our local club? just some thoughts. B
  16. I would have to agree on that one, if we want to be able to import fish and keep fish without MAF being to tight on us, we are going to need to abide by thier rules and regulations , especially this one.
  17. good point inter, i would have to go with you on this one. I have to admit tho that the livebearer forum has picked up a little in the last few months and it looks like more people are getting interested in them again. Either that or there are more people joinging the hobby and using them as a starting point. personally I beleive it is the first mentioned, rather than the latter.
  18. do we sit and simmer on it for now cee's or do we go for it while the iron is hot and people are willing to put ffort in. what is the fnzas fee outta curiosity, I think that whatever it is would be fine for now, providing we don't need to cover web maintenance costs. I think the auto newsletter is a good idea, as it makes you feel like a member of a club and provides exclusive communication for members but also think that we should have a forum, even if it is just a heading hear if it's poss. B
  19. I agree with cees on this one, with such wide spread interest round the country it would need to be run in a similar fashion to the nzka so any input you would have would be appreciatted alan. Helene has a good point there also wi'th a livebearers association or club, it could probably poole more resources that way. It would be good to see these over looked tropicals recognised. far too many ppl see them as just a live food for larger fish. I'm in for a part in the club/society. So which direction do wee go now. B
  20. I am assuming MB is meth blue and if so should be readily available at any lfs. Most of the ones over this way have it shae and Animates or hutt pet centre will have it.
  21. Welcome Ropata, good to see another lurker come clean lol  you can find us most nights in the chat room from 8.30-9pm look forward to seeing you in there one night. Cheers B
  22. Is there anyone in the wellington area that is propagating plants for sale???????
  23. did you notice any unusual swelling of the eye before it disappeared. Sometimes fish can get a tumor like growth behind the eye(like a cyst) and they can swell untill they burst, popping the eye out and releasing the cyst bugs(spores?) into the water and possibly affecting other fish. Personaly I would be treating anyway to stop this occurring to other fish if it was the case JMHO B
  24. HI All Again, Was reading a few of the older posts in this forum and a couple f them mentioned a guppy society being set up, just wondering if this has ever happened or was it just thoughts in the wind and wishful thinking. Cheers B
  25. Hi All, I am breeding guppies and platties at the moment and was wondering if there are others out there who wouldd be willing to swap juveniles, to introduce new lines into thier breeding lines. Also if anyone out thier wants to swap adults from a display tank I am more than happy to swap two juveniles for an adult. Cheers and look forward to hearing from you all B P.S Suppose I should probably mention that I am in Wellington and would be willing to travel as far as palmy or maybe wanganui for them.
