It's not about about giving up critter_guy, it's about learning as Caryl mentioned and then adjusting. I lost count of how many fish and different setups I went through untill I found one that worked well and iwas happy with, so just hang in there and in time you will have a nice setup that you are happy with. B

Definitely some awesome tanks there, I just wish my riccia would grow as rampant as some of those, hopefully my tank will look that good once the plants take off and goo mad. B

What size is your tank, I find that golden barbs add a bit of colour and can get big, make a great colourful addition to any aquarium. B

I am pretty certain that I have both Ambulia and cabomba but not sure so was wondering if anyone could Identify these two plants for me 1. 2. this is the other 3. 4. Notice the tiny little bud on the top of this one. B

I have also put in the tank with them a piece of glass angled and resting on the back wall of the tank with the bottom dug into the gravel. I did a 3rd water change when putting them in and the water I topped up with came from my main tank. Currently feeding with flakes and white worms, except they don't seem to impressed with the white worms. Is there anything else I can do to make things better( more comfortable ) for them. B

Hi All, Just a quick question on bristlenoses. Currently I have a 3foot tank with 2 large females and 1 juvenile sex unknown, just wondering if these become a problem when I obtain a male and they hopefully spawn. Will the parents become aggressive to the others or will they be fine in the same tank. Cheers B

Simple solution would be to turn the air flow offand stop the lid banging down. Unfortunatly don't know if it will effeect them, but my guess is if they are still there then they are fine with it B

I have c02 running on my tank and it does wonders for the plants, also I am adding iron to the water. As Shae suggested try algae eating fish first, oto0's are always popular and same with the Bristlenoses. Oto's as I hear told are probably the brest bet as the tend to eat most algae. Failing that if things to too bad then I wouold move to a chemical, I have always used algae rid and never had a problem with it, always dosed below the recommened and for a longer period to have a more gradual effect. B

Well put Warren, to further add to it, I have found that by putting a two foot pink tube ( red and blue spectrum) as well as two three foot white tubes( std bulb and fitting straight outta an office block) I have managed to avoid excess algae, I was gtting overrun with it and was loathe to use an chemical algae remover unless absolutely nescacery(sp). I originally had just the two foot pink tube on my 3 foot tank, I had always intended on putting in extra lighting and did so. When I added the white lights the algae was growing quite strongly, but after adding the 2 extra three foot whites it seemed to slow down and then the algae started to die off. Don't know if the extra light or dilution of the red and blue had any effect. but there are only a few spots of algae i the tank and I haven't put a drop of any chemicals into it other than the iron and c02. The plants are still growing strongly and regular priunings are now required. Hope this helps B

The eggs have been eaten I guess gaurding them got to much. Never mind, Tommorow I clean out the 3 foot downstairs and move them into the honeymoon suite Is there anything special like doing a water change in the tank they are in and putting that water into the tank downstairs that they are moving to. the tank downstairs has cycled already and has had guppies in it for quite a while. Will they be alright going straight in( with suitable temperature equalisation of course0 or should I put some of the water in with them. B

Osram do a tube as well that is concentrated towardss the red and blue spectrum, these you can get from some hardware stores and most can order it, but the catch is that you will have to order a minimum of 20 tubes ( at least that is what I was told) hope this helps B

Thats great billaney, but at leasat you have the fry, I have to wait and see how many hatch and then how many survive. Came home today and both parents were alternating turns at fending off tank mates and fanning the eggs. which hopefully is a good sign. Questions. There are a couple of white eggs and the parents haven't removed them and now there are a couple more, should I leave them alone and let the parents do it? Also should I turn the filter off in the tank to give the wrigglers a chance to hide and not be blown around the tank as the eggs are in a direct current from the filter, or will the parents actually herd them into a space. When I move them to another tank after this lot of eggs, is there anything special I should do? Thanks heaps in advnce Ballistic.

There in lies a problem Pegasus, not expecting them to spawn in a community tank and not intentionally "getting the conditions right" I do not have any brineshrimp at all, and see no way of obtaining any anytime soon, so will have to be tiny amounts of egg yolk and mushy peas unless anyone can suggest something different. When you say the parents might move them several times, is that the fry or the eggs Pegasus? B

There also another one you can use which is put out by Holdfast and is called 202 Clear and this literally is clear as glass when it is cured instead of the milky white the others go :lol: B

I have taken some pics of the parents and even got a couple of the eggs. Female Angel Another of the Female The Male The Male Tending The Eggs. If you look closely you can see the eggs up along the silicone and out on the glass in the corner The Eggs I surprised myself with the clarity of the eggs in the last picture A couple of the pics are smaller than intended but they can all be viewed at the photobucket account linked to below in signature. Thanks shae and caryl, The plan is to see what happens with this lot and then move them to a 2 foot downstairs, once I move the guppy fry so pretty much as you have suggested. the prob with the female is the male keeps shooing her away so she can't get near the eggs. Unfortunatly I can't remove any fish at this stage, so hopefully, this is lesson one and the rest will fllow in the the tank downstairs Also Caryl I see you have a gold and white/silver angel in your tank pics, what sort of angel is this. It is the same as the ones that have just spawned in my tank. B
