    End on tanks

It looks good but looks like it could be a missions to net any fish or siphon if you need to due to the gap between the top of the tanks and frame.
  5. Baby Discus do require a lot of work with water changes and feeding, but are great to watch grow and colour up. They are also the cheapest way to get discus. Large discus cost a lot more, especually if purchased from LFS.
  6. They may be eating the eggs because somehing scares them, this can be something as simply as someone walking past them or a light being turned on or off. Try putting something on the front of the tank, and when you see the eggs try to leave the condictions the same. Some young discus will just eat the eggs (very frustrating) but can grow out of it.
  7. Try putting a clear divider in, with the new discus on one side and the others on the other side and leave it in for a couple of weeks. This will going the older ones time to get used to the new ones. Another thing to try is take them all out and change the tank around alot, them add them all back in, putting your new ones in first. As all the territories will have changed they will hopefully be ok towards each other. If neither of these work them you just have a very dominate male. We have used both the above methods and had it work both ways.
  8. The only trouble with old eft pos cards is it costs alot to wear them out and make them old

  12. Check out the marine tank in Wonderworld Rotorua. The setup with that might be just what you are looking for.
  13. Can it be the same oxygen as welders use, or does it have to be medical grade?
  14. NO if you Discus and E. yellow prefer totally different PH ranges. Discus ph 6-7, africans such as e. yellows prefer 7.5 8.5 ph
  15. Depends on how uneven it is. If its just a mil or 2 the poly would be fine. If it is more them thick poly or planing might be required.
  16. Breeding discus is best done in a bare bottom tank, and if they are a good pair they will breed again. We move our pairs once they need to be separated from the fry, and they generally lay again within a week or 2. Bare bottom also makes it easier to keep the tank clean, which is important for the eggs and fry. The safest way to get rid of snails is using loaches, but dont use them in a breeding tank or you will lose the fry.
  17. You can try blackpout, but this will only be a temporary fix. As you didn't have the problem where the tank was previously, them it is a light problem. If the light is coming from the side of the tank, then cover that side. If it is getting the front of the tank, then I suggest moving the tank, otherwise it will keep occuring.
  18. How much Prazi did you use with how much water?
  19. After you drink the vodka, you carnt see which tank to put it in, so the wrong fish get dosed.
