We're on the list too, as yet we haven't managed to get anything off the ground. If the list was bigger and a few couldn't make an event then it would be less of a problem because you'd still have the numbers to follow it through. We'll all be coming to Palmy more reguarly Stella, for all our fish and supplies, when we loose our Pet and Fish shops.
I agree Ryan, in our experience we have only met motivated friendly fish folk and after chatting with a few, I think most of us emailed him/her to say that we would be very interested "to know more"? Of course everyone had there own questions no doubt but we would have been keen to give it a go as long as it was fair, maybe some of the those questions came across as negative or doubting and it was canned on that basis.
We didn't hear back, either, could have been a go We met some nice Fish people over the weekend, from Palmy, Levin and Feilding-hope everyone is happy with their Platys and Fighters :bounce:
We have a hexagonal tank and its fantastic, previously we have had Tetra only in it and from different angles it looked like you had twice as many. They would swim and sit in a coil pattern. In it now are Platy and Dwarf Gourami and its equally as satisfying shhh (we also have an undergravel filter), its our most stable tank and wonderful for birthing.
Mine too Phoenix, hey we are loving your Black Neons, thanks:bounce: we were given another 2 Black Widows today, so now have 21 neons, 15 black neons, 10 black widow, 2 serpae, 2 rummy nose, 5 Abino Bristlenoses, 2 panda and 2 bronze cory-in our Tetra only tank:D
Haha just about need a new thread just for Clown pics and brags We ONLY have 5, oneX11cm, twoX8cm and twoX6cm, in a 3" tank, 3 GBA's and 2 red tail black sharks also cruising the bottom, thats the limit ah?
Think positive "love your clowns" and they will be fine. Were they charging the same for these little ones? Our LFS sells Clowns for $30 regardless of size. We didn't go over to Palmy easier not to than be tempted (bought a Fluval 305 last weekend) I did wonder if Animates stocked up well for the sale and I guess they do. Is this sale bi-yearly or random.
Wat else did they have in Palmy people, Green Barbs?
Hi Paul, thanks well they still look very much alike, just one is much more coloured than the other. So looking at todays photos would you still say they are thick lipped? Bit of a shame cos we were trying to buy Honeys, now looking at the photo the Honey is a Honey male? We had a lovely pair of Dwarf Colbalts, first we lost the male and then the female, they were distinctively different, I suppose its harder to call in younger fish? Garry is looking at breeding fighters and really wants to do Dwarf Gourami as well so we will have to see how these develop. ta
Oh good nice to have it confirmed and the Glossolepis incisus, I'm thinking is a male? His colouring when he is at his darkest is sort of like red velvet. Oh that's great to know that you are breeding, I am picking up another Dwarf when I head down to Wgtn for the weekend and would love another couple, let me know when you have some to share. The one I have, I believe is from the Billaney's. Thanks again, you are a great help
Hi, here is a pic of our two Rainbows, the Red we were given from friends in Hamilton we were told it is a New Guinea? Photo shows our little Dwarf so gives you some idea of size difference, he is approx 12cm. We took all our Swordtails out to accommodate "him" and what a wonderful choice, what a feature. Now our little rainbow has someone to sidle up to. Positive ID would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Paul thanks, I think you are right, here is one I took this morning. Will post one of the more paler of the two separate cos "she" was zipping around loving the camera, as I said a lot paler.
At least if they are a pair then thats a start, we were bought them as female dwarf honey and got a deal for taking the two as the males had already been snapped up. Is the a Honey a male?
Here a couple of pics of our 2 new Gourami, sold as mates for Dwarf Honey. Inclined to believe they are both female as they are in the same tank as our Dwarf Honey male and he is not aggressive or enthralled. The front one is much more coloured than the back one, back one shows more blue.
Will try for better photos tomorrow, any help appreciated, thanks.
Hi nice Guppies, here are some of mine, have some like yours with the flash of colour on the top of the tail, bright orange thou. This one has a pretty tail too. I'm doing a strain of just blue fluro's too, started with just the 1 wild boy.
Great one, thanks Simon, we are sure not to miss. So what of New Plymouth itself what shall we see, the Windwand for sure. And is Critters the only Pet shop in town?
