  1. We have our tank Sandy dropped it off to us today and its water tight :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: We are going to get photos and put it all in a post on our blog
  2. Hi Lynda, thanks so much for all your running around, what a stressful end to your week!!!! 8) I have just finished doing my water changes on my breeding tanks, so am already for Sandy to arrive anytime now, I intend to remember to take photos of this setup all the way down the line so no worries. We are going to put our Angels in it, it came with the most awesome piece of tall but thin driftwood that will show them off wonderfully. As I said earlier I thought we were buying a 150 to maybe 200 litre tank, not the 330 litres we got!! It was a fantastic buy complete with its own eheim filter, stand, lid, light and much much more. :bounce: :bounce: Many thanks to you again, we are really looking forward to meeting you soon and returning the huge as favour in anyway we can.
  3. Oh yeah Skalywag , you should be able to thank him in person at our next meeting, he's just moved up from down that way to Palmy.
  4. Haha, I know which tank . Really small world, the guy selling that tank was my eldest sons best friend at primary school, when we lived in Wainui. Then they moved to Waitarere Beach. Probably where the tank is.
  5. Haha when does it close? Sandy's going down to pick ours up tomorrow Both Lindyloo and Sandy have been awesome working in together to ours to us. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  6. Clowns handsdown Fundulopanchax sjostedti/king killies Rainbows
  7. Oh my gosh you are fantastic Anytime we are going thru to Wgtn feel free to call on us to pick up anything for you. Oh I am sooooo excited. Sandy oh buddy ole pal
  8. And again!!!!! We had a fantastic plan yesterday and would have had the tank here by Teatime  but alas there was no-one home to help lift the tank in the car and it is a 2 person job, so the stationwagon came up tankless Is anyone coming thru Wanganui/Palmy/Bulls over the long weekend who could pick it up for us as I said tho it is a 2 person job and the people are away for the weekend so won't be there to help but the tank will be out for collection, on the deck - not the side of the road
  9. Thanks guys We are working on it from our end too, I am getting even more impatient
  10. Haha thanks, thats what we thought too if only we had known how big it was before we left! So close yet so far away ;( You know how it is when you just want your new tank right now, want to get it cycling and put fishies in it. I can't wait.
  11. Thanks Sandy, it would fit in your van for sure we measured up the base last night and the diameter is 67cm! It'd be really cool if someone was going thru that way during the week or even during Queens Birthday weekend. Of course we are happy to pay $'s too help with gas
  12. Cool as Ryan that could work for us as well. Gonna be a super tank just a lot bigger than what we thought :bounce: :bounce:
  13. Hi is anybody by any chance going through Otaki/Levin and then heading to or thru either Wanganui or Palmy. Garry and I have purchased a tank, from you know where and went down to pick it up today only to find the tank was too big to fit in either the boot or the back seat of our car!!! Its a lovely big Hex and the people we bought from were a little vague on the measurements and we thought we were picking up a 150-200 litre tank, instead its over 300 litres and 36cm across each side, 85cm high the diameter is approx 60cm from flat to flat. It probably would fit into a stationwagon (I think) or a van or people mover or like. If anyone could get it to us in Wangaui or to Sandysme in Palmy it would be greatly appreciated, in return we have FISH. For those that don't know us we have Livebearers and Fighters. Any suggestions would also be appreciated
  14. Yeah Sandy that was an awesome idea and it looks like you got the ball rolling :bounce: We already know of people we can invite next time.
  15. We are coming, leaving the family to fend for themselves
  16. Gosh Sandy  we forgot and I have my daughter and Grandkids coming for the week, taking them back home next week. So both are out for us. REally sorry cos we are keen. If it was this time next month we would good, or before. :bounce:
  17. Wow what a fantastic bunch tucking into their dinner, good on you
  18. Thanks guys, its been really exciting not like livebearers aye?
  19. I'm really impressed these guys were fresh out of nest on the 12th and are already occasionally wandering around the tank like big fish Not sure how many there are yet tho, they are mostly hanging out in the perfectly formed cave under the driftwood that only little fish can find. There are 4 in this photo

    Bristlenose breeding

Hi Cam, about 6 weeks ago I disturbed my Male GBA and his eggs (his first ever) then I did everything everyone tells you to do e.g. fed them up, cooled their water, added caves and nothing!!! Then I decided to do a change around and moved them into another tank, I also added more caves and an extra female. He chose an ornament as his abode and still nothing for another 3 weeks, by this stage I had given up and forgot to keep looking and then :bounce: last week I noticed him hanging in his cave more and last night he headed out when I put cucumber in and .... I could see "our babies" moving around, this morning I have baby GBA's all over the tank My advice - ignore them
  21. I have lots more if you make over our way. Some nice cute orange ones for a change or Salt and Peppers Shame about the cycling but its a lesson we all learn, most of us the hard way  Don't forget water changes
  22. Hi Silva, welcome to the forums. Cute yellow Sunset Platies I have some just like em I've tried to breed Danio and they seem a little tricky
  23. Goodluck Sandy its so disappointing when you choose nice Guppies and then loose them! So what did you pickup from Lower Hutt while you were down there [ Are yours blondes or golds Aaron, I have been working on Golds some have Ribbon Fins and some don't, some of the males have that metallic sheen to them? Someone over in Palmy breeds them and sells them to the Petshop and I have been breeding them back pure. Just recently I have bred them with Neon Tux blues and have a few with the Ribbon fins.
  24. Wow and they all looked so bright and healthy! I have to agree with Ryan, I got some lovely looking Guppies that took out others with them, luckily I keep my strains separate and only really lost a few others that didn't really matter. They all got that skinny wasting away look! You know Sandy, that one extra female I bought from the petshop did the same thing, that could be the problem did your one produce offspring before she died?
