    The What's Up? thread.

Just permanently deleted my account on Facebook - felt good
  2. Hmmm, well something is eating mine and unless it's cories, I'm out of ideas. :dno: Maybe kribs?
  3. That was playing at my friend's place yesterday - her son was watching it. Looked really awful and even the son said he thought it was rubbish.
  4. You really need to sit down and watch it from start to finish in one sitting as I missed the tie-ins from some of the time lines and couldn't remember what had happened previously. Might read the book to get the gist back and then watch the movie again. Yes, I didn't understand what they were talking about in one future setting. Just did a quick read of the synopsis and apparently the black slave was Moirori (who later saved Ewing from the Doctor) and he was being whipped by Maori - interesting.
  5. Do Boesemani rainbow fish eat snails?
  6. Started watching Cloud Atlas - 3 days later I'm still watching it.
  7. I like what ghostery does but it's just too much work - it tells you of cookies for any site you visit, whether they're blocked or not so I feel the need to check for every page I turn. I'd rather it just told me of new cookies, not ones I've already blocked but there seems to be no option for this. It would also be nice to block all cookies in a site, not one at a time. So, can anyone recommend any cookie blocking site that does the above?
  8. Any way for it to not advise of cookies etc. already blocked? And is it possible to select them all to be blocked not one at a time?
  9. I don't need to block ads, but delete cookies. Anyone recommend any good cookie deleting FF add-ons?
  10. I didn't search "siamese fighter" on TM at all. If I do search for fish - I just go to the generic "fish" section and just scroll through what's available. So when I received the email I was really surprised. I had a look in their privacy policy and found this under: "Other information we collect": http://www.trademe.co.nz/help/145/privacy-policy
  11. Nope, none for sale in my area and I only search in my area. Probably cookies, can they be blocked?
  12. I recently received an email from TM on "things I may be interested in" which was new, I've never received that before. I found the setting to turn it off as I don't want spam, but what surprised me was it's content: it featured siamese fighters and only siamese fighters, not any other type of tropical fish. I had recently been PMing someone here about purchasing some, and the only contact I had was via PM about the fighters - so how did TM get this information?
  13. They do like fast flowing water so to him, it's probably ideal.
  14. So glad I didn't read your post properly as I hadn't started watching when I posted but now I have and know what you mean, yes - it's taken an interesting turn. Spoiler code would be a handy feature *nods*
  15. Firefly was screened out of sequence which is why it failed (Train Job episode was shown first) - I've only seen it on the boxset which is the order it was meant to be screened. I agree, a brilliant tv series and such a waste compared to some of the crap that gets renewed over and over. Just finished watching The Bridge - a Danish/Swedish tv series similar to The Killing (but moves along a lot faster). The female detective is socially inept, sees things as black and white and is not empathetic at all - she's brilliant! I love quirky characters. The US are doing their version so will be interesting to see if they make their female detective the same way. About to watch Dexter - final season, now I've finally seen season 5.
  16. Is it possible to have a balance of snails and loaches in a tank - or will the loaches decimate the snails regardless?
  17. I'm having a real problem with hair and black beard algae. The tank gets too much light as I put it near a window but I can't move the tank as I'm out of walls to put it against. So I need a long term solution to combat the ongoing algae issue. I have done the black out thing and that works to get rid of basic algae but the hair and black beard persist. I have looked at getting snails that eat these types of algae but most kinds you can get in NZ breed like rabbits - so combat algae but then get an infestation of snails. I have thought about loaches (chain as I don't want them too big) to keep the snails in check but they'll probably decimate them. So, can the algae issue be sorted somehow or will I just have to shut down the tank?
  18. I like to "pimp my windows" and wanted to find a Windows 7 2014 NY theme but the only ones I could find either didn't work (Windows didn't know what to do with it once d/led) or simply wouldn't d/l, and the rest are all Windows 8, so I'm stuck using last years and my desktop is "yay 2013" etc. :fshi: Have we got fireworks smilies - where are the goddamn fireworks!
  19. They've been noticeably absent this year - must be the rain :fshi: @ Caryl: we don't see many fantails, considering it's bush area I'm in - but tuis and wood pigeons are everywhere.
  20. :cophot: I guess you don't see them much? They're all over the place where I live - and Wood Pigeons. I haven't seen any Rosellas this year though.
  21. I've been looking for a zig zag cactus for years - there are none in Wellington. Does anyone have a cutting they could send to me - I'd be happy to pay for all costs :bounce:
  22. I met a parrot breeder yesterday (also has marine tanks) - I mentioned this thread to him so he'll put the word out to breeders in your area.
